• Hey Guest,

We wanted to share a quick update with the community.

Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

If you value the community and would like to help support its continued operation, donations are greatly appreciated. If you wish to donate via Bank Transfer or other options, please open a ticket.

Everywhere you look other than this site is overrun with massive amounts of pro life propaganda, wherever suicide is mentioned. It is especially frustrating to see "pro choice" advocates so desperately arguing for the systematic persecution of suicidal people, but also depressing to see the number of people who just hate suicidal people. It is impossible for suicide to be mentioned without either large amounts of pro life propaganda flooding the conversation or for the only conversation to be crude memes that make fun of suicidal people. Suicidal people have no voice and are hated and persecuted by everyone, and this won't change any time soon since there is no one on the side of suicidal people.

I completely agree, I'm so glad I found SaSu. Without meeting like-minded people here I think I would've gone insane or even more depressed with all the pro-life propaganda.

Here's my personal dilemma. I've struggled with suicidal ideation for most of my life and came to this forum when I got to the planning stages of killing myself. My situation, my pain and my loneliness are all still very real but I'm struggling with following through because there are still moments of magic and good people in my life.

Another struggle I have is reading the goodbye posts on this forum. Some of those people wrote to me when I was struggling and I have a terrible time knowing that I couldn't be there for them. I'm not naive. I will never be a pro-lifer, and know that I am on a platform that supports the choice of ending our own lives but knowing that people are actively ending their lives still affects me as a human.

With this being said, I fall into the category of "pro choice" because I support those who have found themselves in a terrible situation with no other ways to escape. It's just difficult to know that another person has become another number in a terrible statistic.

Pro-life generally falls short of being real sentiment. I'm sure there are people who actually care... but the bulk of people, and most certainly the loudest of them are just in it for the moment.

Suicide is a bit like abortion in that regard. The Pro-Life crowd are all up in your shit if you want to take your own life or your unborn baby, but they don't give two shits about the logistics of making that life worth living or making it easier for you to survive. Hell, in most regards the same people who "want" you to live are the same ones busting their ass to make life as difficult for the average person as they can.

IF they truly cared about "life" they would care about you beyond preventing the death. I'm not saying they owe you anything or have to take you in to support... I'm just saying it's all lip service about "pro-life" when they literally only care about preventing you from dying by your own hand. They'll actively support all the things that are working to kill you in that life... but if you throw up your hands and have enough and want to take yourself out, suddenly they pop up from behind the bushes and say "pro-life pro-life" and then they fuck right off afterwards.

Youre right . They're more anti-death , anti-suicide rather than pro-life
