Venting so i just noticed that I've been writing cbt instead of ctb this whole time and now I am ashamed

why did i do it? where did it come from? idk, maybe because it sounds cooler when i say it my head. maybe cause of automatic correction.
but yeah. i ve been doing this, maybe for weeks, maybe for months.

wondering if I should go and correct all of my previous posts/comments or just leave it like this.

No worries! CBT is a common acronym for cognitive-behavioral therapy, amongst other things. If you've looked around at other websites concerning mental health and psychology, you've probably come across CBT before.

That said, I occasionally write CTB instead of CBT while doing classwork. Oops...

I actually get a little giggle when people do this, loving the irony that it's a therapy methodology. We can just say it's how we throw off our enemies so they think we're really talking recovery...

Don't worry, I did it too at first. It's really easy to mix the two up, and I don't think people really notice if you do mix up the two.

It's also ironic to me that for every suicide terminology, there's a mental health word for it
such is the case for
ctb (cease to breathe/catch the bus)
vs.
CBT (cognitive behaviour therapy)


People understand just fine.
I read a interesting post on tiktok before and it's basically a paragraph, changing the order of letters in each word,
and asking if you are still able to decrypt it.

moral of the story: human brains dont read every letter of the words except the first and last letter, the rest letters were scanned through,
and people still get a good idea what it's meant to say.

never heard of cognitive behaviour therapy before as well until I was researching for therapist in the past.
I still don't know what it is. feels quite vague.
either way, life still kinda sucks in my situation.

Funny thing is, I learned the acronym as Cognitive behavioral therapy first, but then a friend pointed out that it also has a different meaning, and the thought of people getting CBT to treat their depression is so fucking hilarious that I can't think of the acronym as anything else.

It's also funny when people say that they are going to CBT as instead of CTB on this page. But at least I'm on the minority about this, and most people don't laugh out when they read that someone is using SN to CBT. Now that's a kinky method, if you ask me.
