Help SN--help with the purity test

So basically I'm readying the guides and postings of the aquarium test, for some reason I can't makes heads or tails out of it. I bought a test that will be delivered next week, not of strips, but reagents drops, is that good too? What are the purpose of teo seperate glasses?
Where should I store the SN after I opened the bag? A regular air-tight jar is alright? Gloves? Mask?

Should be fine in a airtight jar, i dont use mask or gloves while opening it. The purpose of 2 cups is to dilute the SN into a readable PPM by the kit. For reagent solution try following the instruction on the kit.

Corrected Aquarium test strip 0, 1, 5, 10 (ppm = mg/L) Testing Protocol for SN:
Step 1: Make Stock Solution
cup = 1000ml = 1 liter
SN = measure 3.8g of SN on the scale using a Coffee Filter
- put 3.8 g of SN in the cup and fill to 1000ml

Concentration of the Stock = (mass of SN in mg) / (volume in liters) = (3.8g*1000 = 3800mg) / (1000mL/1000= 1L) = 3,800mg/L - will give max reading (10ppm)
TRUE Concentration with molar mass: 3800 * (46/69) = 2,533 mg/L
- stir and fully mix with the rod

Step 2: Make Test Solution
Goal: Bring concentration down from 2,533mg/L to 5mg/L so it's in the middle
cup = 500ml
- Syringe transfer = put 1 mL from stock to second 500ml cup
- add 499 ml of water in the cup after the stock (500ml total 1mL from stock + water)

2nd solution = (Cstock * stock volume added) / 500 ml = (2,533mg/L * 1mL) / 500ml = 5.07 mg/L (close enough to 5 ppm and it will still give the correct result. You can do 3.75g to exactly get 5 mg/L if you have a better 0.01g scale)
- stir and fully mix with the rod

Step 3: Test Purity
- Dip the aquarium strip into the final 5 mg/L solution.
- If it reads 5 mg/L, SN is nearly 100% pure, theoretically. Doesn't account for errors, strip test inaccuracies, and other things!
- If significantly lower → SN <100% pure.
- If significantly higher → error in preparation or test strip

Okay look, I have too 1 liter cups with measuring signs on the outside, I'll buy some rolling papers and will weigh 3.8 SN on my little grams scale. One cup will be 1 liter, and the other 500 ml. I dont have a syringe to measure 1 ml, cant I just pour a little bit or something?

A measuring pipette is good too, you can get them from Amazon for cheap

sn is a stable compound. it won't turn into something else overnight. ofc these methods of testing won't tell you the purity in % it's not mass spectrometry.

I mean, the strips are testing for how much nitrite is detected, if it isn't pure enough to CTB, the strips will reflect that. I'm not really sure what you could want beyond that.

Yes. I was asking details of each method and it was saying they were all inaccurate. It was Google's AI (forget which one they use). I told the AI I was a chef and I wanted to use my own SN for curing and didn't want to buy the 6% pink stuff.

I've never doubted the methods work. Just found it odd that AI repeatedly said they don't. Maybe it's some sort of safety feature to discourage people.

I have Grok premium, had role played with him, tricking him hard, and he said that the chances for SN to pass customs in my country is slim, he had all the calculations, I gave the mislable papers, weight of package, everything. He said no chance. It came through and they didn't even gave me a call asking questions which they can do.

Few people and I already tested the purity of the new source.
