I know a 8 hours fasting is recommended, but I've read that fasting for that long can actually increase the chance of vomiting for some people. Is that true?

And what if a person cannot fast for more than 4 hours? Would that be sufficient?

Well, I eat a lot often, and I went one full day without eating, unrelated to SN., I was mostly just sleeping through the days, too tired to get up and eat. I vomited everywhere and got a migraine. I also had no water. I think it really just depends on the person and your BMI as well. You want to fast so that it gets to your stomach faster, so if you don't fast, the SN might take longer to have an effect, I believe, not impossible though, just not recommended.

The fasting question bothers me too. With an empty stomach, I fear a lot of abdominal pain with SN (I'd like to take it impulsively but I know it's not recommended at all). But the PPH recommends fasting for "several hours" so I think 8 hours is the way to go. That's what I plan to do personally (last meal at 6pm and SN early in the morning).

I'm going to risk it and only fast for a few hours. Maybe 5 or 6 if I tolerate it well. I have a really fucked up GI system and way too high of a metabolism anyways. If I don't eat every few hours, I feel like absolute shit. Like, after 8 hours I have a massive headache or migraine, I get really bad tremors, and my emotions go all over the place. I legit have to have candy and glucose gummies next to my bed, and a soda on my nightstand in case I sleep for too long. I get mad nauseous too, so if I don't wake up and snack sometimes, I spend the first few hours after dry heaving. I legit just waited too long to cook after waking up, and I'm still shaking like an hour-ish later, despite having a very carb heavy meal. I'm probably very very ill, but whatever, I'll be gone soon anyways lol.

I think the goal is to not have any non-at-least-partially-digested food in your stomach. Granted, this isn't the field of human sciences I'm interested in, so I'm not entirely sure.
