Would fasting for longer work better? i can comfortable go a few days without food then 12 hours without water before ingestion but would it be detrimental to fast for too long?
Yes it would be, you know your metabolism best so work according to that when considering how long you want to fast. It should be minimum 8 hrs but I'd suggest not fasting for days as it's not recommended in the guide to fast for days but for at least 8 hrs. Some have amended the fasting period to how comfortable they feel, be it 10 hrs, 12 hrs, 18 hrs or a whole day of nothing but water consumed.
