PPHB recommends 15 grams and Stan's guide gives a 20-25 gram recommendation. What is the correct dose?

It seems like the consensus here is 20-25 grams. I will be consuming 25 grams with another 25 grams as a backup. It's an overdose so I can't see a reason to go low.

I've seen countless posts saying 20g is more than enough

o___O I don't remember the PPeH recommending 15g. I thought they recommended either 25g if below 100kg, or 35g if over 100kg.

Anyways I recommend following @littlelady774's formula. It matches what the PPeH and Stan's guide recommend quite closely.

The LD50 is 180mg per kg body weight. LD50 is the amount of a material, given all at once, which causes the death of 50% (one half) of a group of test animals.
In other words, those test animals had a 50% chance of dying at the given dose.

To make it 100%, we would do:
180 x 2 x body weight in kg

At your weight (70kg) you would've needed exactly 25 grams of SN for ~ 100% chance of ctb.

At 70 kg, If you only took about 10 grams of SN, you only had about a 40% chance of ctb.

Hope that clears things up for you

A long time ago they actually only recommended five to seven grams I believe. Depending on which version of the PPH they download the dose is way lower in the old ones.

According to published data, an 80-kg adult would have to ingest 2.6 grams SN to receive a lethal dose. So, even the original recommendation of 15 grams is already way in excess of a typical fatal dose. Increasing the dosage to 25 grams is very unlikely to fail.

The main reason for increasing the dose to 25 grams, is to remove any uncertainty. The lethal dose of SN can vary depending on a number of factors, including the person's age, weight, and overall health, as well as the presence of other medical conditions, hence the need to increase the dose as a precaution, to remove any uncertainty.

I mean, if 2.6g is already enough to end someone my size then why is it that Exit international have it way over the lethal dose amount of 2.6 since I'm sure 15, let alone 25 grams is the reason why people vomit a lot when they attempt but I guess it's because a high dose of 25 is to just perhaps put it beyond doubt to be as lethal as possible.

Although it seems like 25 grams will be enough to end someone in thier 20s, just as much as it will end someone in thier 70s.
