Help SN Availablity in USA

I'm not necessarily looking for sources in this thread specifically (feel free to PM me though) but I was wondering if anyone had any info on the current availability and how easy/difficult it is to get SN in the USA rn and the legality of it? if anyone knows more up to date about what states have restrictions, potential legal consequences, or other issues or restrictions with SN I really would appreciate the help!
