Pack of twenty, at least, every day for over fifty years. No adverse health effects yet. I have quit twice and you should be glad you weren't around for that. I tried everything to quit. The only thing that helped was ativan but doctors won't prescribe that for smoking cessation. I hate the addiction. I don't smoke in my house because of the smell.

Recently changed doctors and this one said I use cigs to treat anxiety. He is right. I told him, "Cigarettes are the only thing that has never let me down. They are always there when I need them."

Don't do weed or alcohol, it makes me porcelain-hugging sick. I wish I could.

I smoke to look like I have something to do in public.

I'm trying to quit now.

Try putting some cloves in your rolled cigarettes. Make sure you squeeze the cloves and cut it into small pieces.
Actually when I was a smoker was easier to make good friends at work, at the smoke breaks, we would gather around and just chat, it is a social thing and did created some bonding.

If you really wanna quit without suffering cravings ask your doc to prescribe Champix. Those are pills that block your smoke receptors and stop giving you pleasure In smoking. I'll assure you by day 5 you would quit for sure as the cigarettes would taste horribly because of the pills working in your brain and blocking the smoking feel good thing. It's expensive though.

I'm heavily addicted, smoking about 20-30 cigarettes a day. Additionally I'm vaping in between. I tried to give up a few times but failed constantly. Eventually I decided to give up trying. I hope SN will kill me sooner than lung cancer. So far SI is tormenting me all the time.

I vape also.
I used to smoke 2 packs a day of Marlboro reds, a few years back I started to vape. But I still miss my cigs. Just to expensive now. I'm not Australian but a pack of smokes there cost 30 dollars. Insane!

I picked up vaping 10 yrs ago. I have some of my original set ups- you would laugh seeing where it started. I did quit for 8 months after my emphysema diagnosis with vaping- but my dog had to suddenly be put to sleep it sent over the edge and I got smokes on the way home from the vet. The 2nd time I quit was after my respiratory failure in 2013 I had quit for over a year- and well.. my ex sister in law smoking at my house Hey Brandy gimme one of those... and well I smoke more than ever.. I have a ton of vape gear. I have to quit smoking before I go over to see my younger son so soon I'll be all vaping.

$30 a pack! Yeah I'd quit too. Mine are $3.85 a pack.

I smoke tobacco only when I'm drunk, I can't feel social without tobacco and drink at a party, since I feel tormented by the noise and the immensity of people. But for the past few months I've been smoking only herbs, which means it smells stronger. The problem for me is that I feel my lungs very weak, the burning of the herbs is faster than tobacco, which seems to make the smoke get hotter. Here we call the mixture of some herbs from Kumbaya, it's amazing. Perhaps in the future I will exchange silk cigarettes for a pipe.

I was a regular smoker and stopped in 2014 .... and a few weeks back I started again, first 2 cig/day, then 4.....now I smoked 10 cigs in just a few hours.... I'm becoming HEAVY addicted now;
At first I made my own cigs, using tobacco with hop 10x & Californian Poppy 200x extract cos they calmed me down.
But I had too much trouble putting the tabacco with the powder in a filtercig, they turned into an accordeon when I tried to shove with the machine in the cig. lol.
So today I just bought a pack of cigs even though it's expensive (I think it was 6 Euro).

I don't smoke. But my dad says he remembers a 10 pack costing under £1.00 and a 20 pack costing under £2.00. So 200 fags costing under £20.00. You could only buy 40 cigarettes now for this price. Madness.

I smoked between 16-18, and made many unsuccessful attempts at quitting, until I moved to uni and finally quit nicotine--with one exception, i do hit my friend's vape pen (nicotine) on occasion. I am happy I don't use nicotine anymore, because it really didn't have a good impact on my life to justify the costs and the drawbacks. I do enjoy smoking cannabis and taking kratom most days.

I couldn't smoke in high school due to asthma otherwise I probably wouldn't ended up doing it enough to get addicted. I always thought that smokers seemed cooler and more exciting. I don't think that's changed. And it's clearly a means of bonding. I guess it wouldn't help enough socially to turn a shitty life into a good one though. I smoked a lot - too much - weed in the past but very little tobacco. I wonder if anyone ever felt like life wasn't quite as interesting after quitting tobacco. Maybe it's like quitting coffee in that they're both stimulants. I'm rambling.

Never touched a cigarette until 21 y/o or something, when I was--of course--consuming the god-damned demon pills at max dosage. I also tried doing stand-up comedy and drank hard liquor due to the "helpful medicine" hijacking my brain for around a year.

So, I picked up smoking and was smoking half a pack a day or something for some amount of time (between half a month to six months, again let's collectively lmfao @ my memory). Quit cold-turkey without any withdrawals, yeah I know, pretty lucky lol.

Got the urge to smoke yesterday since I wanted to go into nature but not be completely bored. So I started smoking a bit again, quitting isn't a problem for me and the hit to health and attractiveness is not a factor (obviously). Being a smoker will get me out of mom's basement waaay more, but will also lower my lungs' functioning and probably gym progress and even sleep. Hmm, I don't really care, I'm actively suicidal at this point LMFAO :sunglasses:

i have the exact same relationship with them as you. smoke every few months or so, some months i binge them for a week or two, get tired and then drop them for months until i get offered one or feel tempted after smelling one while passing. i mostly smoke when i decide to drink alone. once I'm slightly buzzed i always go all "why not" when it comes to cigs. lowkey want to start vaping because the smoke is what entertains me most.

I'm pretty sure the first time i tried one was when i was about 13/14. the thing that made me do the cycle of skipping them for super long periods of time was one incident in which i had a panic attack after finishing classes and my first thought was getting a cigarette. i smoked it while trembling like an addict going through withdrawals, and that put me off cigarettes for like an entire year.

Started smoking when I was 15 and stopped when I was 27. Got a bad chest infection and started coughing blood so I stopped. I don't think I was addicted because I didn't struggle to stop.

I've never smoked except a bit of weed, but have considered it lately. I walk past people smoking sometimes and the smoke actually smells pretty good - want to ask them what brand it is, but not yet had the guts.

Marlboro red :sunglasses: The smoke smells better than the "taste?" when u actually smoke that shit for the first time, tho. But, as with whiskey or riding a bicycle, once you get used to it you can pick it back up without an adjustment period.

I loved those with mentol - Dunhill and Marlboro. First they applied stupid and annoying KYC politics with hopes to "fight" money laundring. GB initiated the Brexit with good reasons. Then they added stupid banners to waste time every time you open a website-GDRP. Next they banned cigarettes with mentol and It felt like those idiots wanted to bann everything fun in life. And in fact they did some months later...

I keep quitting smoking and then going back to it. The reason why I keep returning to cigarettes is kind of stupid. It's just that saying "I need to take a step out of this room and take a few deep breaths, I'm really stressed/overwhelmed and I would snap otherwise" is not really socially acceptable without gaining a reputation of being mentally unstable, at least not where I live. But saying "I need a cigarette break" is perfectly fine, so I just keep going back to cigarettes because they give me an excuse to take breaks from shitty social situations.
Now that we're in a lockdown and do everything online I just pretend my Internet connection fails when I need a break instead.

I always hated it, but I tried smoking not that long ago. The reason was a personal trigger, I just needed to do something that I always hated. Surprisingly It didn't feel too bad I could understand why people are doing this. Also it helped me relax on stressful moments. I didn't like it too much tho. Constant feeling of discomfort in the throat.
I'm pretty sure I will never try again as I fixed my trigger by trying it out already. I don't have very healthy lifestyle, so if I can do something to improve, or at least not to worsen it, I will do it. It's easier not to do stuff, than do it. Not ever smoking or drinking alcohol is easier, than always eating healthy food or doing exercises.
Still I have a bad habit. I cut and do some other damage to myself in order to calm myself. But I think it's better, because all that left is scars, not problems with health or addiction.
And I don't want to passively slowly ruin my health and increase chance of dying. Once I'm ready I will CTB.

I used to smoke Drum tobacco. Used to get it of some dodgy geezer for £4 a pack (this was about 20 years ago). A pack used to last me a week. I think you pay nearly £20 quid for one now.
