What's your relationship with cigarettes?
I smoke them on a rare occassion, so sometimes I really feel like it, buy a pack and smoke one or two cigarettes daily for a week or two before stopping for like half a year. It worked out pretty well thus far, as in I am not physically addicted to them, which I do not want to become. But I notice thinking things like "Man, I'd really like to smoke now", which seems to be a rather slippery slope into addiction. I mean the smell is bad, but what's worse is the price. A 20 pack costs 7€ here. Some people from my class who are smokers smoke around 4 ciggies a day, so the monthly cost for cigarettes is 42€. And I can't even pinpoint why, but I still like it. Maybe I associate it with the characters I've seen in my favorite movies and tv series. Like when Rust Cohle smokes like a chimney in True Detective or Takeshi Kitano in his various yakuza movies, it just looks really cool. Then again, normal everyday people are just addicts.
But still, eventually I'll need to stop smoking completely before I can't anymore.

I used to smoke cigarettes that come in packs. I started when I was 18. I somehow managed to keep it a hobby and not get addicted, even though sometimes I would get a craving. Then, last year, I started rolling my own - with tobacco. When I ran out of it, I tried a blend of herbs (no weed). The herbs are really nice, but the stale smoke smells much worse than the regular cigarette smoke, maybe because regular cigarettes have so many additives... I took a break from smoking, but the next time I'll do it, I'll smoke herbs.

I enjoy smoking them from time to time. But I'm not really addicted to nicotine. I'm addicted to amphetamines, though, so I'm not exactly proud. lol

I smoked anything from 80-100 a week for 5 years. I considered myself a heavy smoker. I started after a significant break-up as a means to cope. I smoked straights (packs) exclusively until I learned to roll my own, which became significantly cheaper. Self-rolled cigarettes are a harsher smoke, stain your fingers and teeth more quickly and do not give the same kind of buzz. It was probably "healthier" for me to be rolling my own though, since I smoked less because of the effort. Smoking was a good travel companion for me and also a social crutch. I had a lot of conversations with strangers that I wouldn't normally have.

I went through a phase of about a year where I smoked and drank everyday. It resulted in eventual undiagnosed bronchitis which was hell. I basically couldn't breathe or sleep for a month straight. I didn't fully recover, either, and this was about 6 years ago. The cigarette smoke stains your teeth significantly, which you don't really notice until it happens. It's ugly. Fingers too, but that can be easily resolved with a pumice stone. When you smoke so much, your body starts to feel extremely polluted and you are prone to more illness. I would have what felt like a permanent cold for most of winter.

I think if it wasn't for the teeth and body pollution feeling I would be smoking again. Then again, it's so expensive in the UK now. So maybe not. I do crave it though and I have had some cheat smokes with my grandad in the past couple of months. It was extremely difficult quitting. I took up running and I would go for a run when I was struggling with withdrawal. My smoking was attached to a complicated system of behaviours, so I had to pick apart all of those and remove myself from pretty much everything that I loved doing with myself. Even then I couldn't quit entirely. Eventually I moved to America and quit about a month prior to that. The move probably played a significant role in that however after about 2 months of not smoking I started to feel MUCH better in my body. This positive reinforcement will essentially stop me relapsing into heavy smoking again.

I've tried sage, marigold and lavender. Nice blend. I might add some other herbs as well. These three smell divine together (unlit). Fresh smoke is alright.

5-10 unfiltered cigarettes a day. They dont do much for me but ensure that I shouldnt make it past 60 if all else fails. More of a long term hole in the safety net

I enjoy it but it's a nasty and expensive habit. The negative health effects are of little concern to me.

Been smoking for 30 years. I need it. It calms me. I'd be a raging psychopath without nicotine. I've tried to quit, but I'm such an asshole without them.
I usually roll my own. Have been rolling for 25 years.

I dont know how people can afford tailor made cigs , i roll my own and lucky live in a port so plenty of shops near me (always getting raided) sell smuggled tobacco for £10 a pouch as opposed to the £22 it is in shops, although the last 4 weeks i have only been venturing out at night when it`s dark for odd provision so have been buying it at regular price

There were occasional cigarettes, but I could never get addicted to them. They stink and there is pretty much nothing to gain by smoking them. Now weed on the other hand...

I've never smoked cigarettes. They seems really gross to me. I love smoking weed though.

It would be one hell of an experience to smoke weed with you!

I don't really notice cigarette smell anymore, which is probably a really bad thing. 20+ a day most days, usually as a distraction or because of stress. Plus, my body is already messed up and I don't plan to be around much longer, doesn't really matter what I do now.

I roll mine, smoke a lot when there is nothing else left. It is a distraction, I actually hate smoking.

If I was not driven to death but had the semblance of a livible life, I would not smoke or have coffee.

I began smoking at 13. I will be 49 tomorrow. About 2 days before I turned 40 I was in the hospital pretty sick with my lungs and found out I have emphysema. It's very advanced for age I have smoked ALOT of cigarettes. I smoke 20-50 a day. Depending on how bad my nerves are. 2013 I caught cold germs it landed me on life support with respiratory failure. My lungs go through periods of exacerbations-where they get worse. If its a particularly bad exacerbation the worsening is permanent. I'm having issues with my lungs right now not sure if pneumonia or exacerbation coming. My advice- if you will live long don't smoke. It sucks having emphysema.

I used to smoke in my teens and early twenties but I quit and haven't smoked in probably 8 or 9 years now. I used to enjoy it, found it relaxing and stress relieving. But I have brittle asthma and landed myself in the ICU after a bad attack, never smoked since.

A good way to check if you are, is to just try to stop for a few days.

I vape also.
I used to smoke 2 packs a day of Marlboro reds, a few years back I started to vape. But I still miss my cigs. Just to expensive now. I'm not Australian but a pack of smokes there cost 30 dollars. Insane!

I smoke to look like I have something to do in public.

I'm trying to quit now.

Try putting some cloves in your rolled cigarettes. Make sure you squeeze the cloves and cut it into small pieces.
