I know people say that benzos/z-drugs aren't a reliable method; however, I'm in extremely poor health (underweight, poor adrenal function etc. .. I can barely speak, climb up the stairs etc) and do believe that a sleeping pill OD will likely be enough to kill me: https://pdfs.semanticscholar.org/5ed4/0519f326953153590b66c0260bb99024dfd8.pdf

It's getting hard to hold on and I keep toying with the idea of ingesting a box of Zopiclone (I have 27 x 7.5mg pills). However, I did have some questions:

1. Would this be 'peaceful' akin to an opiod OD, insofar as I'd just fall asleep and stop breathing? Or does a z-drug mean I'd likely hallucinate, become agitated etc.? I'm also wondering if there would be any behavioral signs that would alert my sleeping family?

2. Is vomiting a risk? Would it be better with/without food? Would alcohol increase the risk of vomiting? What about snorting it?

3. Is brain damage a risk if found?

As far as I know, it won't be a reliable method. You will vomit it all out and sleeping pills that are available today aren't as harmful as the ones from decades ago. You wouldn't want to risk it.

Zopiclone wouldn't ideal and 27 wouldn't kill you.
You'd sleep for a while but it's not fatal. You would need a lot more pills with alcohol to make a difference and even then you might throw up. You wouldn't suffer brain damage.
Definitely look for a better option.
I've tried the sleeping pills method plenty of times and I'm still here.

Out of curiosity, why does a sleeping pill OD cause vomiting? Is this guaranteed to happen? Or only if mixed with alcohol?

I have an entire box of Zopiclone and bromazepam. As I say, with my extremely poor health, I do think there's a pretty good chance it'd kill me but it's definitely a gamble. I dread OD'ing and waking up in ICU. Sounds a lot more peaceful than SN though.

Sorry it will not kill you no matter how poor your health, they are designed to be non lethal. I took 70 pills that were double the dose of those just to pass the time locked up, all that happened was i had a good nights sleep, then the other side effects of zopiclone took over & i apparently spent 2 days on the ward, including ward round while completely unaware, first thing i remember was 2 days later asking why there had been no ward round, as i didn't remember having one, turns out they have great amnesia effects if taken above the recommended dose.

So please no, it will just get you some sleep & if you are unlucky you will end up doing something while unaware that will bring attention to you & result in a trip to the loony bin. Sorry.

I'm rather glad it didn't. As someone from fellow brexitshit land (hello) I spent a week in hospital made out I wasn't suicidal and came home. The only side effect was the nasty taste in my mouth from the Z that tainted my food for about a month.

I understand you have mobility issues but if you can try your method out side this winter as while you are under the drug induced sleep the Hypothermia will almost certainly get you, this will be my method this winter up in the Brecon Beacons. ( Good luck ).

Oh / like it was said before take a good amount of Benzos, mixed with Codeine maybe, before hand take through out the day some Promethazine, this can be found be found an OTC drug called Phenergan.

Not true. As I've posted before, this patient died from ingesting just 12 pills: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/9068198
