Sleeping is basically the only thing I still kinda look forward to. I wake up and I immediately look forward to going to bed again. I mean ig there's still some little things, which bring me mby a lil bit of joy or at least comfort like buying Minecraft kinder joys or taking a shower outside during the night and looking up at the stars. I'm grateful that I can do that. But still, I sleep prob in total for half of the day or even more, it's escapism of some sort ig, but the alternative doesn't seem better. Like I wake up, work out, eat and try to sleep again. Being awake sucks, sleeping is at least sort of peaceful, even tough sometimes my thoughts won't let me fall asleep and it takes hours. Fuck my life is just so dull, it's actually insane. There's plenty of things I want to do, but I don't have anyone to do them with and it's just not the same alone u know.
Well anyways, I'm going to bed now
Good night to everyone, who also goes to sleep now

I get that, mate. Sleeping is really the best part of the day. Even just lying in bed, for me really... You can kinda forget about all your problems, and just lie there kinda... Peaceful. I hope death is like sleep. It's nice. No worries, yeah? Goodnight, mate♥️

I go to bed knowing I will wake up disabled and do it all again and again. It's awful to be honest. The other option is to stay awake in pain.

I love any opportunity for sleep! I know too much of a good thing can have its consequences, but it's so nice to just be completely unburdened by the world just for a little bit. I always relate to those moments in Howl's Moving Castle where Sophie is completely back to her normal appearance whenever she's asleep because she's totally at rest and unable to channel all of her negative feelings toward herself.

Imagine having severe akathisia leading to horrific insomnia and you're in physical and mental anguish 24/7. Death seems like the perfect rest for some of us in total agony.

Sleep and food are my favorite parts of the day. Also, any time I can drink alcohol and then eat and sleep. Doing those three things together is so nice when I get the opportunity!

This is why Covid lockdown was the best year of my life. Get to stay in bed all day everyday while the world froze was so magical to me. Of course I was privileged in many ways, but I'll take what I can have.

I haven't slept more than 2 hours in 5 years. The doctors ask me if I sleep I say no and all they say is what a shame. They offer the same meds that now make me sick then get mad when I tell them they make me worse. They tell me it's not possible. It's in my head.

Yeah it truly is, I also tend to watch ASMR when lying in bed. It's not for everyone, but for me it just adds another layer of relaxation
Hahhhah for real

Unfortunately it usually doesn't feel like it lasts that long, but u know there are times, when it rlly feels a bit longer or when u dream a lot, it also feels a bit longer. I always found it fascinating how we sleep for hours but it feels like only minutes or even seconds passed

Have you tried ASMR on youtube to get to sleep? It's hard for me to sleep so I listen to ASMR on YT. Headphones, DuckDuckGo browser so that the ads don't kick in, leave the screen on so that YT doesn't stop and the brightness on the lowest possible setting so my battery doesn't run down and play an hour long video and often I just drift off. And when I wake up in the morning I just scrunch my feet into the sheets and fall back to dozing agin. Worth a try?

Yeah I actually do pretty much the same. I have YouTube premium, bcs I really need it, I use it often and with the ads it'd be unbearable. But anyway, I've found a really good Russian asmr channel, which is now my go to. It's called TimurDoktorov.
Thank u for your recs, I'll check em out

I feel this in my soul. Sleep is my favourite thing. It's like death without the commitment. Years ago my love for sleep was so bad I would abuse my sleeping meds. Wake up, take meds, go back to sleep, rinse and repeat. Just sleeping a good 16 to 20 hours a day. I'd still do it if I could tbh but I live with people now who would be concerned if I slept all the time.

I'd prob do the same if I could, sleep as much as possible. I wish I'd like being awake, as a kid I hated going to sleep, now it's the only thing left I enjoy

Yeah when you sleep all the time.. and you're around others.. they all pretend they're worried.. and it's just like.. what the hell else am I supposed to do.. and it's like why should I stay alive just to sleep my life away anyways.. I swear people are so stupid it hurts.. I have no idea what makes them fuck off.. and leave me alone.. I really don't.. I've even started legal action on some of them.. it's like for real.. if you won't fuck off when I'm taking legal action.. there is no helping you..

For me, sleep has become something sacred—not for the physical rest it provides or to satisfy a need, but rather, as is likely the case for many, as a form of escapism from reality.

The problem is that I suffer from bouts of insomnia; it reaches a point where I can't sleep even though I feel tired. I have to take over-the-counter medication to drift off and get the rest I need. Otherwise, it becomes an ordeal: I can't sleep and get agitated, and even when I do manage to sleep—at least during the day—it's an uncomfortable experience. I frequently wake up due to noise, the need to use the bathroom, hunger, or a sense of unease, and restless leg syndrome causes me to lose sleep, ultimately ruining the whole thing.

Despite having strange dreams—sometimes nightmares—and only occasionally remembering them upon waking or being left with lingering sensations, I still enjoy sleeping more than being awake.

U described basically word by word what I'm experiencing, I also have bouts of insomnia, where I just can't sleep without taking meds, it's incredibly frustrating, but sleeping is still great. I kinda also like dreaming, bcs I don't get nightmares that often, usually my dreams are just very arranged and are influenced by media I consume. Hope your insomnia gets better tho

Yeah I wish the Xanax packages in my country were bigger, they're only 20 per pack. Also I'm trying not to completely rely on them for sleeping, but it's nice to have them
