So, I've never been a big SitCom watcher, but in the recent events of my depression worsening, I feel like I need something where I can turn off my brain and watch stupid stuff happen on TV. Here are some of the things I want on it (They're not "must haves" but the more the merrier.)
  • Small to no amount of serious stuff. I just want to laugh at stupid shit.
  • Some absurdism is always welcome.
  • Preferably no fantasy or sci-fi elements.
  • A large amount of already produced content to binge. I have the means to acquire the media, so no worries there.
I know it's a lot to ask but I wanted to sample what you guys, which are already sensitive to a degree, would recommend me, since I also have a bit of a struggle watching media and relating to it a bit too much.

Malcolm in the middle. Definitively my favourite sitcom ever ! In fact it's not like other sitcoms as it is not recorded live with audience, but awesome show !
Otherwise Alf is good too, if you want to turn off your brain...

I remember Alf. Didn't watch much but it always seemed like a fun mindless how. Also heard about Malcom in the middle but don't know much about it outside the name. Thanks for the recs, will definetly check them out.

My go to is The Big Bang Theory, I binged the series three times so far.

I see a little of myself in all the characters so it resonates with me. It is not too far fetched but absurd enough to be funny.

If you must watch just one show, then Malcolm is the right show 👍 It's not just funny, it's hilarious ! Awesome actors and situations. And Bryan Cranston, one of the best actors ever. It's extremely well written and you don't get bored for a second. I literally cried laughing 😂 I already watched the whole 7 seasons two or three times...

Well, that is set then, I'll binge this one! People can still recommend more, I'll be glad to check out!

Frasier's always been my favorite sitcom. And being that I'm right about everything, it's clearly the best one ever. All 11 seasons are on Hulu if you're interested.

Seinfeld, Frasier, and IT Crowd are all great, very cozy and lots of episodes between them, highly recommended.

Do shows like Community and Arrested Development count as sitcoms? Technically they seem to fit but they kinda riff on the sitcom formula as much as follow it. Either way, both great shows too, minus the last two seasons (on both accounts).

If it's on Hulu, it's on Davy Jones' locker. I'll fetch it out.

Noted too! Seinfeld is a classic, I really should watch it soon!
