just like before you was born you didn't exist and since everything you are cease to exist upon your death why live in the first place
everything you do will have no benefit to you once your dead

i think the worse thing that could happen is the universe brings you alive again into a completely new life form by random chance
just leave the non-existent alone in peace, it's been proven that the universe can create something from nothing what implications does that have on birth and death

Honestly for me there is no purpose I feel like people claim they have a purpose is trying something to look forward too giving this false illusion of the meaning of life.

As a concept- sure- it's all meaningless- as far as we know anyway. As a lived experience though- that's something else. You've got however many days you have left to live to try and 'get through'. For me anyway- it's about making those days as painless as possible. I don't think I could cope dwelling on the meaningless, shittiness of life 24/7. Not to have a dig at you- if you're suffering all the time, it's natural your mind would keep going to that. Still- I think a lot of people just try to distract themselves.

Ultimately- pretty much EVERYTHING we do is a distraction I suppose. It's just some people are better at doing it than others. Some people can lose themselves in their work or hobbies or socialising. Of course- it's still meaningless in the overall scheme of things but- for that period- I suppose they didn't have to confront the bleak meaningless of it all. Sure- they're running away from it but- what does it really achieve to just stare at it the whole time? You can't change it. I think the tragedy here is- many of us don't feel like we have much choice anymore. Stuff that used to distract us or bring us pleasure maybe doesn't appeal anymore- or, we're unable to do it- sadly.

In terms of- why should we put up with being alive? Initially- obviously- we don't have the choice- as far as we know. Beyond that though- we don't! That's why we're here presumably- to work out how to kill ourselves!

In terms of reincarnation, just our universe is estimated to be 13.7 billion years old. If life really is just recycling particles- do you suppose all the particles that make up you now are brand new? Do you remember what you were in past lives? If not- I REALLY wouldn't worry too much about reincarnation. Even if you do become something/ someone else- what are the chances you'll remember your current life? Maybe next time around, you'll have an easier ride. What do you suppose will happen in 10 billion years when the sun explodes and destroys a bunch of stuff? Will it all just regroup to make something else immediately?

I mean- who knows? Maybe there are parallel universes plucking particles out of nowhere to build new life. Still- as far as we know- babies don't just spawn out of thin air- like in computer games. They're born. Creatures evolve to get to this level. Maybe those particles form the very basic forms of life to begin with though. Still- I still think it's consciousness you're talking about maybe? The experience of being alive? Is consciousness formed out of particles? I sort of doubt it. I guess there is a chance that some of your particles could become a new person, still, do you REALLY need to worry if you are reincarnated as a rock? Are you talking about your physical body or- your consciousness?

Whenever you ask that everyone seems to suddenly become a mix between guru/philosopher and usually the answer they give is "the meaning of life is whatever meaning you give it".
So deep, so helpful... its so funny in a way :pfff:

There is no meaning to life, never has been, never will be.

The meaning of life is to make this time period as pleasant as you can, for you and your loved ones.

surly it would be better if life didn't exist so no one would ever have to suffer

i asume all the matter in the universe is as old as the universe itself, we are machines made up of atoms once the machine dies all memory die along with it just like a computer, matter cannot be destroyed only transformed into something else, This concept is called the Law of Conservation of Mass.

consciousness arises from the brain or all the atoms in the brain, The cortex of each part of the brain plays an important role in the production of consciousness, especially the prefrontal and posterior occipital cortices and the claustrum, i don't believe my consciousness will survive after death, i just simple think somehow i can be remade into another machine

Extreme Pain is much worse than people know

No purpose. Just to suffer constant unending unbearable pain each second that pain is like the worst pain the worst seconds of drowning or burning.

That's possible and probable. But they tell us life is wonderful.

Is watching a dumb utube video, eating food like a pig, watching what they constantly tell us is a "beautiful" sunset worth the worst kind of long lasting extreme torture?
No way.

I hope for your sake then that you are remade into a mega advanced super computer. Seriously though- if AI ever obtained consciousness- would you want to come back as one?

I could never see one, we only exist as other people decided to so cruelly burden us with the ability to suffer here. Existence is just an meaningless and unnecessary cycle of senseless cruelty and endless suffering, all that existing beings are doing is waiting until they inevitably cease existing where all will be forgotten about. I could never see anything to be gained by existence, it's just a horrific mistake to me as it's the ultimate cause of all suffering, existence just causes harm all for the sake of it.

And I believe that humans only ask this question as they have the ability to be conscious and aware unlike animals who only act in a way to benefit their survival, they aren't bothered by how futile existence is as they aren't capable of recognising that. I believe humans try to assign a purpose to existence to try and justify the state of it, they don't want to come to terms with how they suffer so unnecessarily enduring meaningless existences, destined to die and be erased, eventually I believe it will be like most of us never existed at all.

I think this is the best explanation there is. Why we and all living things have come about in the first place with the key mission to procreate is beyond me. But it's as basic as the above tbh.
I think of the preying mantis as a good example of the base hideousness of this. The male has it's head removed and eaten once it has pro created with the female. What sort of an existence is that, if nothing more than procreate at all costs, no matter the suffering.

I'm only here to make myself happy and others happy, everything else is irrelevant. Knowing that I can kill myself at any point and the universe would be no different means if at any point I see my life becoming net-negative I can just leave.
