for example, the belief and desire to stop smoking, but the person chooses what seems to be more probable, despite the strong belief, continues smoking
who simply wish to not be are limited to only two options, dying or living, therefore, stuck in the middle, the continuation of torment.

I living is just a byproduct of my cognitive dissonance.

It's very true that existing in this world certainly is a punishment, it's something so horrible having the ability to exist here in this chaotic world where chance so cruelly determines everything and where we can suffer to unlimited amounts. Of course it sounds ideal being able to permanently not exist, where we won't even be aware of the fact that we are gone, free from this cruel burden that was so unfairly forced onto us.

of all the possibilities of the after life i fear that the most
