In Some Other Lifetime

In some other lifetime
As some other person
I'd like for things to differ
From how they went for me

I'd want a cozy fireplace
In the loveliest house
Surrounded by family
I think that's all I'd need

I'd love only one lover
And my lover would be good
I'd never get to know
How cruelty feels

What living has to offer
Is pure and unique to me
It's a gift to be alive
I'm sure that's what I'd think

So, in some other lifetime
As someone other than me
I'd like for anything else
To be nicer
