• Hey Guest,

As you know, censorship around the world has been ramping up at an alarming pace. The UK and OFCOM has singled out this community and have been focusing its censorship efforts here. It takes a good amount of resources to maintain the infrastructure for our community and to resist this censorship. We would appreciate any and all donations.

Im no longer in the US and im what the shrink called a fully developed sociopath, means i see therapy as a game or a challenge to manipulate my therapists im incapable of taking it seriously. The first time was a woman in her mid 30's called Lucia she only lasted about a week with me because i was trying to get into her head and manipulate her into doing some other type of therapy if you know what i mean. Then i went to another guy and hes the one that verified her statement that i was too far gone to take any therapy seriously(i wasnt trying to screw the guy just saying) i was trying to befriend him so that i could be in a more advantageous position.
The studies define effective by whether the patient's subjective personal rating of their quality of life increased, and also objective ratings of whether the frequency of legal incidents decreased. Not really focused on eliminating the mental illness the way regular therapy is. So maybe that's why it worked... just a different definition of "worked".

Ohh.
Hmm, still I'd think it would be 50/50. Maybe they will honor it maybe they wont.
If its an official bracelet they have to honor it, because it serves as a legally binding document but it just comes in the form of a medical DNR bracelet, in the hospital after your addmited if you fill out the paperwork, they will give you one and also place a DNR sgin over the head of the bed.

As long as your either an emancipated teen, or 18+ years of age, and you have the mental stability to take sane and controlled decisions then yes anyone can get a DNR bracelet.

It's different when somebody is mentally ill. Reddit has had discussions about this on /r/medicine and /r/legaladvice. Same rationale as involuntary commitment.

I wonder how law makers/police/hospitals define mentally ill. Do you have to have to have a severe, documented mental illness with disability, or could someone with depression and anxiety be determined as mentally ill and have their DNR revoked?

If a person was found in a coma and it's suspected they might have tried to ctb, does that automatically nullify the DNR even if there's no documentation of prior mental illness?

I was planning on filing a DNR and having it on my person when I ctb. Knowing it might not do anything and people will go against my wishes is very disconcerting. I'm wondering if I should even bother with a DNR at this point.

Being suicidal tends to remove the mental sanity part legally though. At least from what i've read.

I think it's worth a few hundred bucks to talk it out with a lawyer. You can research legal websites and court cases but an actual conversation will give you peace of mind.

Yea but with a little persistence you may even be able to win that argument legally, you would just need to prove that your not an immediate danger to yourself. Meaning your not going to CTB right after getting the bracelet and that having the bracelet wont trigger a suicidal response from you.

I may be wrong but i believe that once you have your DNR it doesnt matter how you flat line, suicides, homicides, accidental its all the same they cant touch your body legally. Then again theres no need to go to a lawyer, to get a DNR from a hospital the hospital sends legal representation to speak to you and make sure you understand what your getting into. They also explain what would happen, or why you are being denied, and you wouldn't spend a dime. Just saying.
