Another poll. This one will be anonymous though because it's a little more personal. Speaking as a 28 year old guy who got bullied quite a lot throughout highschool and early adulthood, who also had his heart crushed like a watermelon by the young woman he was going to marry (I got engaged to her and she cheated). I think bullying should definitely be considered a crime and I'm 50/50 on cheating being a crime because it depends, but in certain situations, yes it should because my mental health problems are partially a result of being cheated on. Cheating should definitely be considered a crime if it involves children being in the picture because they will grow up in a broken family as a result of someone else's actions.

Yes to both.

Or should I say: Do you think bullying and cheating is violating someone else either physically or emotionally/mentally? I personally do.

Are you talking about children here? I definitely think there should be stricter punishments for both. Better still- they need to be taught why it's unacceptable to treat someone like that to begin with. But for say a 7 year old- should they get a criminal record for teasing someone? Probably not.

I think it's a difficult thing to 'police' even in adulthood to be honest. We're already a very PC world. Not to say that's always a bad thing but- where does it end? Some people take offense at things that aren't even directed at them personally. What will comedians be able to make jokes about without being sued?

I certainly think there ARE extreme cases of bullying and cheating that DEFINITELY need to be dealt with better. I actually think falsely accusing someone should be dealt with very harshly too though- that can just as easily ruin their reputation- mud sticks. I think it would have to be a matter of assessing things case by case.

cheating has bigger spread of illness. basic deceit and stealing. high level shunning by others. transmitted diseases is physical violation. bullying has different ways. will not "seem" bad to outsiders. metaphoric
physical diseases, mob thinking ignores for desire of pain.

Often times stricter punishments mean people will just go to greater extremes to avoid getting caught (but won't be deterred from the crime). I do not believe this would reap the results you are hoping for.

First off bullying IS abuse… and it kills people, so yes bullying should be considered a crime. Wtf this isn't even an opinionated matter.

And cheating? Yes.

No, to crime, and yes, to civil lawsuits, instead.
