  • Hey Guest,

Today, OFCOM launched an official investigation into Sanctioned Suicide under the UK’s Online Safety Act. This has already made headlines across the UK.

Should I try MH meds and counseling as even if I felt better, my sister still would not get a job, clean up her messes all over my house, or work in the yards? (I mean hell she has plenty of time as she lays in bed 7 days a week.) I still will most likely CTB sooner or later. I was curious as to what some of you would do. I am still working on securing the rest of the things for my bus ticket. Did get my SN, 2 whole pounds of the stuff! I have met some folks here who are pretty intelligent and savvy, (Let no one say suicidal people are stupid!) I thought I would ask you guys, what would YOU do? I don't have the money to move, and no other relatives I could go stay with.
If I had the funds to move, I would have fled long ago. Love to all here as always.

If your sister's not contributing bothers you, which is indrrstndable, do you think making these things conditions for living with you would be a good idea? They're not outrageous things to ask for.

I would try counselling and MH meds, because why the hell not, it's not like you have something to lose, if they don't help you can always CTB afterwards. They can't solve practical problems in your life, but they might help you think clearer, have more energy, come up with solutions and gather the strength to implement them. If you're not in any risky situation that can rapidly deteriorate leaving you in great amounts of pain and unable to CTB, I'd definitely give it a try, you can always come back to the original plan later.
Wishing you best of luck either way.

Meds sometimes have side effects that they say are temporary but are actually permanente, such as ringing in the ears. Counseling might help if they focus on the right things. A social network on friends and/or family who care is usually better than counseling, but it takes time to build this. If counseling is focused on building this and helping you with how to find employment then this could help- friends who care and a job could help. It's a good idea to explore options for recovery for as long as you think recovery night be possible, though every person has the right to find peace however they can.

Try it but be careful. The only therapy I had which 'helped' was free (charity) and they used 'person centred therapy'.

So sorry your sister is still making your life unbearable. If I was in your position think I would give meds/counselling/therapy a go. Only because if I knew I'd be hopping on that bus sometime in the not to distant future I'd try things which could potentially ease the pain in the interim period. The right meds could help with taking the edge off & therapy might offer coping strategies or ways to make your sister see the damaging effect her behaviour/attitude have on you. Both of these could potentially make everything slightly more bearable until it's ctb time, if that's the route you ultimately want to take. Living with someone like your sister is mentally draining. Also, living surrounded by her junk would create a very oppressive & suffocating environment for you to constantly be living in. Sadly, in this world some people are leeches & just want to suck the life out of us...your sister seems to be one of these x
