Hi. I'm wondering if people had experiences with whether to leave a note with reasons for CBT.

I'm concerned that people will judge or not understand regardless. I've made such a list already, and the reasons make sense to me personally. I don't want to spend ages justifying myself. But at the same time it might be rubbish to not defend myself.

I definitely intend to leave a note to explain what to do with some of my stuff and I'd maybe like to thank certain people for being in my life.

I'm struggling with this too. I don't think it matters being judged when I'm dead, but part of me still wants people to know why, or the people responsible to feel it, for once. It probably doesn't make any difference in the end, the important thing is the journey, e.g. actually dying. I suppose its hard to let go of that nobody will care anyway.

Yeah, and people will just move on. They don't have a choice. If they got dragged down by it then they'd have a crap life so I think everyone would forget about me as a survival mechanism.

Same. People will most likely shit on my grave, as a survival mechanism. I can't escape that even in death, I think. But people outside my family might miss me, that's sad :(

I feel like only you can decide this as it depends on how you feel and your situation. I think that I would personally try to explain as it would mean that those left behind are not left with unanswered questions, it may give them some understanding as to why I chose to do this, even know I doubt they would ever fully understand. I wish you the best.

Yes - If you have immediate family (parents, spouse, kids, grandkids etc) so they can have some sort of understanding / closure.

No - Everything & everyone else.

in my experience, the families/friends of those who departed too soon had always wanted closure, to have some insight as to what happened. Its ultimately up to you. But most people i know would've wished for something, anything. Because regardless of whether or not you think people won't miss you, I promise theres always at least one person who will, who will be left wondering.
