I'm 24 years old but still living with my parents. I've been getting rid of a lot of junk and whatnot lately and was thinking of just getting rid of everything altogether (Clothes, CD's, Movies, Games, electronics, etc.) so that my parents can use the room as a spare or something. I feel like if all my belongings are still there they'll want to preserve them and the room will be wasted. I have to be really certain I'm going to go through with CTB'ing though, cause if not I'll be left with nothing. What do you guys plan on doing with your belongings beforehand?

I wouldn't get rid of stuff just in case I change my mind or fail.

I am a simplistic person at home purely for this reason. I don't attach to things if I need to drop it right away. I have a bed, tv, clothes, kids room(educational toys, no nonsense). It's a pretty swanky home but I like it uncluttered and free of things like an hgtv house, if that makes sense.

For yourself, what about downsizing a bit? Maybe donating or cleansing what's not needed? It will make you feel good that you are keeping things you need and also preparing for the future.

Won't your parents become suspicious? If I follow through with it, I don't plan on doing anything with my belongings, kind of an OCD thing, I want to hang onto all my things, or at least have them all still in one place since I'll be gone.

I highly suggest you think this through before you ctb (or don't) and at least give yourself the chance to make things better and give yourself the necessary attention and care you deserve.

I've just been getting rid of things I know I don't need and can do without incase I also fail. Things like my camera, musical instruments, clothing/ shoes I don't wear, and anything that's expensive and would go to waste. Just lightening the load as much as possible. Shoes and clothing I donate, but electronics seem to sell well. You can then use that money or leave it behind for others.

Your parents might want some things to remember you by, I wouldn't throw away everything.

I'm going to tidy my room and make everything as neat as possible before I go, I don't want to leave a literal mess for them to clean up

Hi! I'm 25 and I live with my parents. I'm going to clean my room. To avoid suspicion, you could do reverse psychology and say you wanted to donate some things because you're doing well in life and want to give back to others. I'm going to organize my stuff.

I'd say get rid of any "unmentionables" like sex toys if you have them. Could be embarrassing.

3 months ago I set up a small music studio in my room. Making music has always been a dream of my life. That's what keeping me alive now. I think Im going to use up until CTB. after Im gone my family can sell the stuff and use the money to cover funeral expenses.
I would totally get rid of my weed and pills stash ☺️

Personally I wouldn't. Leave a bit suspicious if you see what I mean.

I was thinking I would gather the few things I wouldn't want people finding like diaries and embarrassing things like my sex toys and bondage stuff (don't want my family finding those haha) and put it all in a well sealed plastic bag and bury it somewhere in my local park. Then if I am successful, no one will ever find it and if I survive I can just go and get it.

I doubt your parents' problem will be the lack of a spare room, or that it changes anything if it is emptied or not for them.

Hmmm... my bedroom was being painted & had the popcorn ceiling removed so I don't have to worry about that, but I have a bunch of stuff in my closet/vanity... I've thought about it & I think my parents would know something's up if I all of a sudden started getting rid of stuff I've kept for years because I liked it so much. So it might depend on how often you normally declutter/get rid of stuff & how much stuff you have.
