  • Hey Guest,

Today, OFCOM launched an official investigation into Sanctioned Suicide under the UK’s Online Safety Act. This has already made headlines across the UK.

This is a clear and unprecedented overreach by a foreign regulator against a U.S.-based platform. We reject this interference and will be defending the site’s existence and mission.

In addition to our public response, we are currently seeking legal representation to ensure the best possible defense in this matter. If you are a lawyer or know of one who may be able to assist, please contact us at [email protected].

I debate if I should clean out my stuff from my room before ctb. On one hand, I feel that not doing so, will have an affect to where my family might know the true me, that I never intended them on knowing. On the other hand, the idea of doing it feels like a lot of unnecessary work, and also something that could be a sort of red flag to my family or friends. I feel stupid piddling back and forth with it, at what point does it become suspicious rather than just looking like a spring cleaning. Should I just forget about it all together, let them deal and decide what to do with it rather than try to make it better or worse for them?

That's completely up to you to decide. I personally wanted to clear everything and organize things before my attempts.

I have organised things, so it won't be a big issue for my family. However, maybe don't do anything too rash incase it doesn't work and then you have no belongings lol

I already started getting rid of stuff that would get the people who find me too much insight into my soul. I never liked to write things down, so stuff like journals are not a problem. I will delete my google history before and destroy old devices that might still have history on them. That's it. I'll try to clean the house a little, but for all the money I paid in rent these years, the landlords can deal with a little mess. I only feel sorry for my books which will be most likely thrown away. That's life :(

To answer your question, leave it alone, what if you survive? It would also look suspicious.

I personally would leave the stuff if there was a chance that clearing things out would make others suspicious of the fact that you plan to ctb. There really is no point to risking the chance of others interfering, it's not worth doing such a thing.

But of course it's a personal decision whether to get rid of your stuff or not, I understand why someone would wish to do such a thing but after all, it isn't like anything can concern us after we are finally gone from this world, if someone dies and things are left behind it could never be the problem of the person who has left this world.

I wonder the same I have shitloads of clothes and shoes rather than random possessions, I'm quite minimal with everything else I hate clutter. But if I start getting rid of coats and shoes that I love it's mega mega red flags to everyone I know. Even though I won't be here I just dread my mum having to get it all sorted and together and get rid.

Yes, it should be up to you, what feels more comfortable for you in your circumstances.

I personally got rid of everything I could and put things in bags so it's easier to take away - I rent a flat, don't want to make a landlord wait. And I don't want to leave a lot of stuff after myself, I know sometimes it's very hard for relatives to get rid of it because of grief, and it becomes a problem that can last for years. Fortunately, almost all my life was digital. And in I my case preparation doesn't look suspicious so I'm safe.

I went thru a lot of drawers and closets and cleaned them all out, plus I donated the extra 30 paintings we had(I'm trying to make the place as empty as I feel)--I'm trying to make it as easy as possible for Patti's brother(Executor of my Will)and my 80 yr old stepmother, don't want them to go to any trouble after I'm gone--Hopefully, they'll be able to sell the place furnished
