Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

I recently bought a .357 magnum revolver but I'm having second thoughts because I don't want to fuck this up. Do I wait to get a shotgun so I have a better chance of success or just go ahead and CTB?
A 12 gauge 1 ounce slug has several times the energy of a .357 magnum. A single shot shotgun is also far cheaper and potentially more reliable due to their lower complexity. There would still be a chance of survival but I honestly think its a lot lower with the shotgun.
Go look at the suicide resource compilation and see the firearms megathread. Lots of great gun info, and some images of where the brainstem is relative to the external features such as the ears and face. Its basically right between your ears but too high and youll just pierce your parietal lobe and sustain a potentially non fatal wound. That said most people in the thread will agree that .357 is plenty sufficient given proper aim.

I just want to die, it's so funny without a encore

So would you aim behind the ear or above the ear? The diagram I saw on that thread shows it behind the ear but most resources I've found say above the ear.

To be honest, it shouldn't matter. I'd recommend hollow point bullets if possible.
You should be dying from blood loss, but as someone with extensive anatomy training, I've never seen an accurate diagram depicting the location of the brainstem relative to the ear on this website. People take the drawn diagrams too literally.
This is why people say in the mouth at a 45 degree angle, if this helps
