i don't have the attention span for novels currently, but if anyone has recommendations for plays, short stories, short novels, or poetry leave them below

i enjoy:
never swim alone and this is a play both by daniel macivor (both one act absurdist plays)

the ones who walk away from omelas by usla k leguin (this is freely available to read as a pdf online)

This is one of my favorite short stories of all time. It's absurdist but still grounded in realism. It's a beautiful meditation on mortality that's also funny in a sad way. If you enjoy this, I highly recommend you check out John Cheever's other short stories, as he was a master of the form.
you've read my mind, thank you for the recommendation! absurdist fiction is an underrated genre imo
