Idk, I hate how they didn't really exploit the popularity of their GAP ad if that makes sense? Like in all the interviews after they said they wanted to move onto bigger and better things and have more creative control but it was all just mouthing for the press, HYBE is trying to recreate the success gnarly but we've all moved on from it and we're frankly tired of surface level childish bullshit music with no meaning.
It's been almost a year since their last comeback, and the more you overplay and force the same out of season songs the more people realize how shitty they were and the initial marketing and wow factor that made them successful will wear off as trends come and go.
I know the girls are great performers, but please give them more creative control and have them experiment with darker topics. The girls are such versatile and one and a million performers, don't waste their talent on bullshit.
Maybe HYBE America is broke and genuinely can't afford to do a lot with the girls right now? Maybe they got famous too quickly and their label is scrambling about what to do with them??
Also, I haven't even watched their new commercial bc 1. I'm employed and 2. Idc about capitalistic events but what the actual fuck is the choreography and song? It's terrible and feels like a kid friendly version of those tasteless Carl's Jr ads from back in the day.
I haven't been able to engage with a lot of their stuff lately bc I've been busy but the direction they're going in is depressing me as an EYEKON, they can do better.
