Gunshot wound to the head at point blank range will always be gruesome.

Executioners did shoot their victims behind the ear, but I am not sure if it can be done reliably by oneself.

I wish there was a way to practice (of course there's not). My thought would be, instead of relying on just one shot, I would do a series:

1. Thigh, hoping to hit an artery, but likely to miss and still be conscious, but causing bleeding if nothing else.
2. Chest, right at the heart. More likely to succeed, but if not, causing a serious wound, and I would still have second or two to..
3. To the head. Even if I don't hit the right area, this, plus the other two shots, should do it.

Worst case would be to bleed to death which shouldn't take long.

2. Chest, right at the heart. More likely to succeed, but if not, causing a serious wound, and I would still have second or two to..

Worst case would be to bleed to death which shouldn't take long.

I get your thinking, but nobody knows what will happen after the first shot. Survival instinct will likely kick in strongly, such serious wound would cause shock where you cannot think clearly.

Incidentally, that is why cutting is a dangerous method. It needs focus on finishing hurting oneself, while already injured, bleeding and likely in a shock / strong survival mode.

Not a recommend way.

I'm personally fond of the 00 Buck to the chest. Depending on how long your arms are and the barrel length you should be able to pull it off(6ft tall male, I have a 20 inch barrel 590 and can reach my finger into the trigger guard while flagging my heart) I don't want to completely disfigure my body and I also actually appreciated my brain. It was the heart that destroyed me and lead me astray. I always thought headshots were kinda gross honestly.

Ya even with like 380 you're 100% cooked in that situation.

you got two options left, either the temple or the forehead, what are you using exactly cuz if we're talking shotgun youre dying regardless of where you shoot a hand gun is different
