I really like this song. I have no idea what he's saying but the lore of it is that this singer was in another band in Splatoon 1 called the Squid Squad but at some point that band broke up. The title "Sea Me Now" seems to indicate that he left for good reasons. I dunno. It's just nice.

I've already been all over this thread but it's Sonic's birthday so sure I'll post some more underrated ones. 😄

I finished Ace Attorney Investigations 2 about a week ago but here's a couple tracks that stood out to me:

This one sounds shockingly upbeat but when extended it works out very well for feeling like it's time to get down to business. I also like how some of the instruments here make it sound more like a lost Pokémon HeartGold/SoulSilver theme than an Ace Attorney one.

I had actually heard this track many years ago when the game was only out in Japan but I remember being thoroughly disappointed by it when compared to its counterpart from the first game. Now while that track is still far superior I can see how I've slept on this version. The vibe is meant to be less harsh but still mysterious, as if indicating that the clues are far more subtle but that once unearthed they'll be very impactful.

God, why did Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire have to take so much of the SOUL out of their tracks? So many of the remixes are misses rather than hits and the difference in this theme and its inferior remake just make that so blatant.

Not to shit on ORAS entirely though. Many aspects of those games are still quite good but I'll still always feel bitter about how soulless they made some of the music. If X and Y's music was mostly all style over substance, the ORAS soundtrack is mostly the great substance of the original Gen 3 music but without any of the snazzy style it has.
