I dont watch much I probably watched like 5 anime shows/movies my entire life but I like:

Platinum End (all about suicide)

Yu Yu Hakusho (childhood memory for me)

HunterXHunter

Silent voice

That's about it for anime. For other shows/movies that arent anime I watched train to busan, last of us, the walking dead but quit on s7.
I love zombie shows, it's all depressing and it shows you what people will do to survive.

You should absolutely give Gakkou Gurashi a shot, it's a good zombie survival anime and manga. There's also zombie centered books all over like World War Z. https://archive.org/details/zombieapocalypse0000unse_v7m5, this is a book that was entertaining to me personally.

You might enjoy Dead Dead Demon's Dededede Destruction as a manga. I'm reading Monster for the first time.
