i'm thinking of trying doing this one in order to ctb when i'm home alone. it's painless and also very accessible since everything i need to do is just dipping my face into a bucket full of water while holding my breath after voluntarily hyperventilating. i wish i had a bathtub but everything i've got is a bucket...

i'm planning to place a heavy enough bucket on a chair leaning against the wall, then i'll move my couch near there and lie down with my head inside the bucket.
if the bucket falls over, i intend to go to a hotel and trying it with a bathtub instead.
if i can't faint, i'll try to make it with air duster.
Plain SWB looks beautiful on the pictures, but it's rather hard for many people to accomplish in practice. Long hyperventilation may cause headaches (hence excluding the "painless" aspect) and still be insufficient to limit CO2 to the extent when the sense air hunger doesn't occur before fainting.

Don't do this if you only have a bucket. When you faint, the bucket may fall and the method will be interrupted.
Also, SWB is hella difficult. I hyperventilated for 20 mimutes straight and still couldn't hold my breath long enough to pass out. I did very violent hyperventilation for 8 minutes and I got extremely hypoxic but still couldn't pass out. I even stood up (bad idea) and fell due to the low oxygen but still didn't lose consciousness.
Drowning should be paired with some sort of asphyxiant to make you lose enough oxygen, then you hold your breath underwater and may drown quietly.
I suspect that violent hyperventilation may be non-optimal, because it induces too much stress that can result in producing CO2 at a significantly higher rate than you have at rest, and this could partially negate your efforts to reduce CO2 levels in the bloodstream. Besides that, it seems that it is important to train your tolerance to high CO2 levels by repeating long breath holds over and over (with trying to bear arising urge to breathe for maximum possible duration each time) in order to succeed at fainting eventually.
You shouldn't feel any pain when drowning if you induce persistent unconsciousness beforehand, that is the key feature of the plain SWB method and its enhanced version that involves gas asphyxiation.

You are supposed to do (1 second deep inhale and 1 second deep exhale) and repeat obviously, not rapid short breaths, it made me dizzy as hell the longer I do it and sometimes it gets harder to inhale because of the alkalosis and not because of the muscles "tiring", now I remember doing it and I held my breath into the plastic bag on the pillow and I couldn't inhale nor exhale and that's all I remember before waking up to my face out of the pillow and bag and breathing air, I can't say anymore of this because I am not allowed but this is all I can say.
Actually this sounds the best, instead of using too much gas like from a tank connected to a mask on the face or a bag around the head constantly flowing. Just inhale 4 deep breaths of the gas and before you pass out, go underwater without inhaling any of the oxygen in the air.
