Hey there,

Today morning i tried ctb with shallow water blackout method but unfortunately it failed miserably by SI though i didn't back out but my body did everything it can to survive and ruined the attempt.

Here is what happened: i did hyperventilate for around 4 mins and felt little euphoria and lightheaded after that i tried with bucket first because it was more comfortable and it covered around half my head in water, then after hyperventilation i stopped breathing and just put my head in bucket for around 1 min (without breathing) and i did have some urge to lift my head but didn't i just "let go"

my mind felt euphoria and peacefulness and few detachness from reality then i started fade out and faint and my hearing faded (i was listening to music) but in the last secs when i had strong urge to breath i didn't but while i was fainted i felt immense fear and my body reacted and my head hit (unwillingly) the bucket so hard and it spilled, then i regained consciousness i auctally didn't remember anything and what happened during last secs can't remember it just felt my head hit bucket that's it.

But though i was so desperate i tried drown in tub and did hyperventilate and drowned myself but same in the last secs my head snapped out water like monster, i decided drowning is not my way it's hard! and I'm pretty sure if you try it in swim pool or lake you will feel immense fear in the last secs and your body will swim out like shark , your only way is a weights and this is scary and haunting. Rip my method.

It's so hard to leave this world and I'm sorry that you had to go through that just to try finding some peace. You deserve better. Sometimes it's the world that betrays us and sometimes it's the SI.

This probably isn't a great method for a lot of people in general. It was a failed attempt but YOU are not a failure!

Just relax my friend. A failed attempt is upsetting and exhausting. My advice do something you enjoy for this evening to recuperate. Weed and a movie or music, play some games or meditate. There is no rush to get right back to it. Let today become yesterday

Thanks you 💗 yes SI is really messing with us but since i was desperate and no access to SN or N i just decided to do it anyway, thanks!

Sorry you failed, there are other methods, I'm sure you'll find another.

I think it's easier in a body of water though, you can move to use up the oxygen. Weights seem like a good idea, but not a crazy amount. If I was doing it, I'd hyperventilate and freedive, would put enough weights to give me neutral or slightly negative buoyancy when I go down, so I don't pop up facing up once I lose consciousness.

I don't think I'd ever be able to do it like you did, you've come further than I ever could with this bucket.

Well yes but really weights are scary can't do it, but i agree free diving can be good because it will consume more oxygen from swimming but yea when adrenaline rush it's pretty easy to fail without weight and yea desperation to death can make wonders even with bucket, also thanks for you kind words.

This sounds very traumatic. I think the most suicidal person in the world would struggle with this method because the biological need to breathe is always going to win out. The mind is remarkable in its determination to keep you alive. The only way drowning would be successful is when there's no way to back out.

Although I remember from my scuba diving days (former life with hope and prospects) that I realised hypoxia would be lovely way to go. I experienced the early stages once and it felt very pleasant and peaceful, despite death being only potentially minutes away.

That sounds really horrible. I'm not sure that I would ever be able to ctb that way, even know I was considering this method if I got really desperate. The SI really is so frustrating. I wish you the best in whatever you decide to do and thank you for sharing your experience. We all deserve the option of a peaceful exit, we should not have to resort to methods like this in the first place.

Yeah, it really sounds like an ordeal for you, and really sorry for you having to go through that. Rest. Recoup. Make a few jokes. Regroup. I know there's a way to do it like this, but it takes some $, imagination, and creativity to eliminate the SI factor. That's just the engineer in me talking.

Sorry to hear, sounds like it was pretty traumatic. But you still got Very close by the sounds of it.
I hope you're doing okay now. A failed attempt can be extremely hard on someone both mentally and emotionally. Take some time for yourself.

Also, I too laughed when I read "your body will swim out like shark".

I'm sorry that it didn't work out the way you wanted it to. What a mentally draining experience. Like you said, it's time to find another method. I feel like the more control we have of our method the more likely SI is going to get in the way. If you don't mind me asking, what was the fear of when you felt fear. Was it fear of pain from drowning? Or fear of dying?

I've always had the crazy idea of hyperventilating but instead of water, use duct tape in nose and mouth. I've never tried tho, I always get the urge to breathe

If you tried adding a small amount of weight then maybe that would prevent your head from immediately snapping out but still allowing you to back out

The most suicidal have cut their own throat more than 5 time consecutively. People can do some crazy shit and overcome SI, you can easily find extreme cases if you search for it.

I will be plunging in the deepest body of water I can find with the heaviest weights on me I can carry to avoid this kind of thing. Virginia Woolf was able to pull it off it in a relatively small river with just some stones in her pockets, somehow. Remarkable.
