None of those drugs contain serotonin, so no. Serotonin syndrome is caused by excessive SSRIS, or selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors. What they are is stimulants, which sounds like quite the awful way to go. You're essentially overstimulating your body until it stops. I'm not confident that it would kill you, but I am confident that it would feel like your heart is beating out of your chest and your head is going to explode. Excessive stimulants sounds awful. Shaking, sweating, tachycardia, heart palpitations, severe anxiety. It does not sound pleasant in the slightest.

Oh okay. Thanks for letting me know. By the way, I don't know why but I've always liked the thought of a stimulant overdose. I've always wanted to ctb by one but as you've said, it does sound awful…

Your chances of developing serotonin syndrome due to Adderall or caffeine is low (probably a 0% chance, tbh). Your chances might increase depending on what medications you are taking with them, especially when it comes to Adderall.
In rare cases, serotonin syndrome may be triggered by nonmedicinal foods, such as coffee.
Excessive coffee intake triggers serotonin syndrome by promoting 5-hydroxytryptamine (serotonin) secretion. Patients with psychiatric diseases that necessitate treatment with SSRIs should be educated regarding caffeine consumption.
When the drug in small doses, as prescribed by doctors for patients with ADHD, the change in serotonin is not enough to create a drastic change in the serotonin levels. Too much of the drug, however, can release an excessive amount of serotonin into the brain and can bring about a dangerous condition known as serotonin syndrome.

Adderall and MAOIs increase serotonin in the brain. Taking them together can raise your risk of serotonin syndrome. This is a rare condition caused by too much serotonin in the body.
Similar to MAOIs, combining Adderall with an SSRI can increase the risk of serotonin syndrome. But you don't necessarily need to avoid this combination altogether. If you take both medications, you may be prescribed a lower Adderall dosage.
Combining Adderall with an SNRI can increase your risk of serotonin syndrome. As with SSRIs, you may be told to watch for symptoms of high serotonin levels. If any symptoms feel severe or life-threatening, get emergency medical attention.
Triptan medications are used to treat migraine headaches. They work by attaching to your brain's serotonin receptors (binding sites). Similar to SSRIs and SNRIs, taking a triptan with Adderall can increase the risk of serotonin syndrome.
Taking Adderall and tramadol together can increase your risk of serotonin syndrome. But this may also be the case with Adderall and other opioids, too. In fact, opioids have a serotonin syndrome warning for when they're taken with medications that increase serotonin.
Similar to SSRIs and SNRIs, St. John's wort can increase serotonin in the brain. If you take it with Adderall, there's a higher risk of serotonin syndrome.
Adderall and caffeine are both stimulants. As mentioned earlier, taking two stimulants together can worsen Adderall side effects, such as sleeping problems and an elevated heart rate.
Caffeine comes in many different forms, including coffee, energy drinks, and pills. If consuming caffeine is part of your usual routine, it's a good idea to limit the amount with Adderall. Check out a few non-caffeinated ways to start your day with natural energy.

Serotonin syndrome is something you should be more worried about developing if you are taking Adderall with certain medications, like MAOIs or with SSRIs, but even then I'd assume that your doctor will likely adjust the dosages in order to mitigate this risk. Combining caffeine and Adderall isn't going to cause serotonin syndrome, but the caffeine can decrease the effectiveness of the Adderall and it can lead to an increase in other side effects.

It doesn't cause serotonin syndrome but it does sometimes cause fun. If I take an amphetamine and feel like it's wearing off I often boost it with caffeine. You're not supposed to do this though. I've been on amphetamines for a long time so have a high tolerance and know my limits. When I first got prescribed amphetamines it was a really low dose and sometimes that alone even gave me the shakes.

Nooo ssssssserrrrrraaaafim, Nooo
Mixing and ODing ingredients on those would feel like having your heart and central nervous system strapped to a Bunsen burning whilst running on a treadmill. They have nothing to do with serotonin and you really don't wanna try ODing on antidepressants to induce serotonin syndrome. None of this medication will kill you unless you have pre-existing health conditions.

Oh and @FuneralCry saying things like this to deter suicide is important and not pro-life. Yes we can see you just about to comment on this in a new thread.

I have ADHD and I used to take Adderall for it but stopped taking it after college. When I drank a lot of caffeine (morning coffee and 2 iced venti brown sugar shaken espressos) along with my meds, I literally felt my heart pounding in my chest and like I was dying. I thought I'd gotten Serotonin Syndrome lol

I feel numb all the time though, so I kind of want to feel something, but yeah, a stimulant overdose is probably not the best way to go…

It is highly unlikely that they will cause serotonin syndrome on their own. I suspect you'll experience negative physical symptoms from stimulants before there's any remote chance of serotonin syndrome occurring.

However, stimulants can increase the chances of acquiring it if you take SSRIs, for example.

I was serious in my 5 redbulls a day post. I did not experienced any symptoms apart from extreme tachycardia, which I would get used to after a few days.

People already said it but no it wouldn't work, you would have to overdose on antidepressants and SSRI's to get Serotonin Syndrome not caffeine and stimulants. I was thinking of doing that myself on Sertraline.

Dude, that's because you took two different stimulants together. The thing is, caffeine works by acting as an inhibitor at adenosine receptors and Adderall works via the induction of norepinephrine and dopamine. By taking both at the same time you are just enhancing the effects of both drugs (caffeine can cause a decrease in the efficacy of Adderall and an increase in it's undesirable side effects). An increase in heart rate is just a common symptom of taking the two together.

With that in mind, if you ever decide to start using Adderall again, do not drink anything with high amounts of caffeine in it just after taking it. It can actually increase your chances of developing an addiction (you already have a caffeine addiction, you do not need to develop an Adderall addiction too).

It takes me a 200mg caffeine pill (equivalent to 2.5 Red Bulls) and 7.5mg of Adderall just to get me through the day. Sometimes it induces labored breathing because my blood is pumping so hard. Come to think of it, I probably look a like a mad man the way I stomp around in public places at 100mph. No wonder people stare at me in fear. I hope it gives me a death blow heart attack one day.

Don't do stimulant OD, it sucked when I did it.

If you ever consider it despite the warnings, maybe this will help you think twice:

Surviving a stimulant OD left me hospitalized for 3 days (it's a blur but I think that's correct?) and while that's nothing compared to a psych ward stay, they took away my devices, wouldn't let me watch tv, wouldn't let me sit upright, draw, play with cards, read books because the joy/interest I felt would make my heart rate spike to dangerous levels. There was always an alarm going off. If I didn't breath for 10 seconds or if I spoke more than a few words, an alarm would sound and I'd be asked to stop and breathe deeply. I managed to avoid the psych ward by some miracle, but those 3 days come close to some of the psych ward horror stories you hear.

DONT OD ON STIMULANTS. ITS NOT ONLY PAIMFUL, SEEKING HELP IS TORTURE.

both of these together are unlikely to cause serotonin syndrome but it is NOT a good way to go, speaking from experience. i OD on sertraline/zoloft back in February, and was rushed into hospital with SS. iwas in an out of consciousness, vomiting and trembling once I made it to the ER. I was delirious, heartrate and body temperature skyrocketing. from what my mother said, I had severe tremors and was sweating profusely. i don't remember much from that night but I did hallucinate quite a bit too, the doctors were considering sedating me. after about 36 long hours of being monitored, I was admitted to a ward where I began to calm down, I was released the following day. i do not recommend CTB this way, it's fucking awful and not as peaceful as I had imagined
