Sensation when jumping

Good evening everyone, I hope you're doing as well as possible. I'd like to ask a question...

My friend committed suicide three weeks ago. She jumped out of her window, about 15 stories up. I can't stop thinking about what she must have felt. She must have hit the ground hard... but did she die during the fall? Or afterward? Did she suffer?

She died the same day.

I can't stand thinking about it anymore, about what she went through in her final moments. She was a very sweet girl. Her suicide shocked me deeply because she had never spoken to me about her distress.

Please help me understand.

If you jump from high enough, your death with likely be instant when you hit the ground.

I hope so very much. I would be afraid to do it and be found like this: my mother looking through the window at my inert body. It takes terrible courage, crazy determination. Thank you.

It's totally not the same and I don't mean to sound insensitive; I tried bungee jumping a few years ago. Going down, nothing crossed my mind because I was too focused on the sensation of my stomach plummeting. I felt a huge rush and then it was over just as soon as it began. I'm very sorry for your friend. I hope it's any consolation that she likely didn't suffer nor die before impact.

Definitely: she deserved it. She was adorable, very funny, she was my only friend at school. It's so touching that she's no longer here... she deserved a place in q better world

I'm very sorry to hear about this, can't even imagine. Sadly, I don't believe Any of us can help you understand this Nightmare of a situation. Sounds like she was pretty good at masking her emotions/ feelings I guess..

Anyone who has experienced any kind of fall knows that any sensation only happens afterwards. Even if it takes a few seconds to reach the ground, there is not enough time to think. Your brain will be busy with hundreds of different sensations at that moment. She's fine now. Better than any of us. I say this based on what I have observed and experienced in life in my almost 60 years. She is fine.

The inner pain that others don't see can make us do things we never thought we would do.
I hope she didn't feel nothing more than peace and freedom.
Nobody desearve to suffer especially not the kind souls

Thank you so much. She was incredibly kind, always smiling, I adored her. I spent all day with her, I miss her but in a strange way. I feel sorry for her: she wanted to go on trips, etc. She will NEVER be able to. I feel so bad for her.
I'm so sad she didn't tell me about it, I would have loved to help her. Thank you for thinking of her.

the pain is for those who remain...you are a good friend and she will live forever in your memories.
i know it hurts and i am very sorry, she was probably a very young girl and this is very tragic but i think she went to a better place.

Yes she was 18 years old, she was born on April 21, 2007. I love her so much, thank you very much

Hate to double post but.... I Do Hear you and Sympathize with you the Whole way. .. I remember a particular story my Mom has told me for years.... she Flatlined on the table during a complicated surgery.... ( viralensyphelitis.. < sp ..). In which she was filled w/ and saw a Huge white light of enveloping love and adoration. To Where she didn't even wanna come Back ♥ (,even asked the boss/,Dr in charge.. Did you Have to bring me back?)♥ Operation Dr.. Supervisor told her.. . Ohh, youre one of those. And went there ? )

Still makes me Fckn cry..... fck.

Thanks for sharing that… it actually really reassures me.Knowing your mom felt so much love and peace in that moment,and didn't even want to come back ,makes me feel more calm about what my friend might be experiencing right now. It's comforting to think that she might be surrounded by that same kind of light, warmth, and love, if she's in that space too! Truly, thank you.
