Selfish suicide "attempt"

On Wednesday morning at around 3am, I had to call an ambulance for someone who had threatened to ctb. As you can probably guess by my being on here, I'm pro choice, I think that the person involved has every right to end his life. He's an adult, it's his choice. So then why did I call the ambulance? Because he involved others. He went online telling everyone he was going to do it, posting suicide notes, and then I get a phone call from 3 worried Americans that this British lad is gonna kill himself and they're all terrified. It's fucked up. If you wanna kill yourself, then do it, don't involve other people. So yeah, I had to call the ambulance on behalf of 3 other people who wouldn't be able to live with themselves if they didn't do anything, and then if I didn't do anything I could probably be held liable in a civil case if not a legal one. It's fucked up. Die in private!!

To pre-empt the comments, ambulances and hospital care are free here. Turns out that it was just a cry for help, he didn't end up doing anything after the ambulance got to him. He got pissed off at his friends and blocked them for them getting an ambulance to him though. It's just very immature. And I'm pissed off that I had to be involved at all.

I guess I'm just making this thread to make it clear, this is what happens if you're gonna post about your attempt online (Edit: except anonymous spaces like this, of course). Please don't involve others.

Excellent point, maybe others are pro-lifers, or just have a legal obligation to report.

Not sure if the defence of "I think the person was bluffing" would hold up, maybe it will, maybe it won't.
