Originally I created this throwaway account to seek feedback on how to know when is time to CTB.
Maybe I'm past that already. I may still seek such feedback and will title any such post accordingly. But this post is to seek any expert (if there is such a thing?) advice to ensure a successful and painless long drop hanging.
for a bit of an overview, see for example https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Official_Table_of_Drops
Criteria for method:
Painless, quick
Assurable Success
Straighforward. (i.e., go to home depot buy hardware, get it over with.)
It seems if you implement the noose correctly, and you ensure that you have high enough a drop, then this really is straightforward. I'm looking for a ledge (apartment balcony for example, or a precipice, in both cases, need to hang onto something rigid). It seems I can just walk a plank if you will, just let myself drop almost 6 ft and the noose if properly self applied will snap and it will be done.
What are key details or any critical points of observation that anybody can make?
Really helpful if I even have an outright part number to go for as to what rope to buy where. The alternative is to buy a ladder at Home Depot and to kick it off (assuming a firm mount for the noose), but 6 ft is kind of pushing it using the ladder method.
Thanks in advance.
Please no sappy I'm so sorry or this or that. Not on this post anyways. Maybe if I make the other post. This is strictly for method proving only here.
