Hey yall. I can't find the search bar. Is it because I'm new? I already did some replies, but do I need to post a thread too?

New members don't have access to the search bar or chat. You need to make more posts and have an older account.

Hmm, that's strange. I figured the search bar would be unlocked along with all the other permissions after you surpass that secret number of posts, but upon review, the Rules and FAQ do not mention the search bar. Maybe there's a second undisclosed engagement requirement before you can use the search? Idk.

Hey I'm new too, well I actually signed up last year but haven't actively been on SS up until the last week or so.

I believe I still don't have full permissions yet either. How do I know for sure? I can't find a search bar although if I go to create a new thread, when I start typing in the title field, other related threads start appearing below as if they're search results, but I would've thought this isn't a proper search tool but instead it's just a small query tool which is there to avoid people posting duplicate threads on identical topics

Hi, the search bar will appear next to your avatar. I don't know what triggers its appearance, as I've shown very little activity here myself

Yes, you are too new. Just keep posting replies and you will get it. There is a forums games section in the "Off-Topic" part of the site if you want a faster way to get there.
