I won't comment on the issue at hand, but man, I'm already tired of AI being shoved into anything and everything...

if you think it, they'll know. if you come here, they'll know. their entire agenda is about taking away your own liberties and forcing you into their shoes. you'll live for 100 years and up until 75 you'll be working every fucking day of the week. you're an asset to them and they'll do anything to keep you chained to them like a dog

How can we be sure they're only using it for that cause? We already have companies selling our data, its not a far reach to think schools will only do the same.

Or maybe worse update student profiles, out LGBT students, use the data for scholarship applications etc etc. Is it this really worth the invasion of privacy? It feels like an excuse tbh.

Might this not just force children to be even more secretive? Imagine if a few internet searches leads to a welfare check! Police at the door. The parents will be just thrilled about that.

Plus- isn't it kind of sad? You're hoping their laptop computer might realise they're suicidally depressed because, no one else bothered to pick up on it.

my highschool had something similar along with a few other schools but it wasn't for suicide risk

(MDM / Management Profiles I believe they are called)

I believe that they were just being nosey to see what we were doing outside of school on our devices we had to bring to school

even if you bought your own rather than using the school's property you had to get it on there

and the worst part is that you must return to the school to get it removed rather than finding some loophole online or going to a shop or tech store

so I agree from experience with Forever Sleep about it making children more secretive but from personal experience it gave me a lot of paranoia

I would assume most parent would ask their internet service provider for Internet search history
although I just learned that most wouldn't give out that information even to their customer

which is a bit confusing to me and makes me wonder what they would do if the police or government asked for it

out LGBT students
It'll definitely be used for that. There are already state legislators scrabbling to find new and interesting ways to out queer and questioning kids to unsupportive guardians. I'd check up on whether any of these bills have been passed yet, but I don't feel like getting even more depressed today.

I'm sort of surprised that ISP's wouldn't give out search histories of minor kids to their parents. Maybe they don't want to be put in a position of arbiting family disputes, especially since there have been people who claimed to be concerned parents when they were actually something a lot creepier.

The police can just about always get an ISP to give them whatever data they want, which would be ok if actual police officers hadn't been known to pull some pretty creepy shit as well.

Thank God life is fairly brief and nonexistence is otherwise eternal. I wouldn't want to have to worry about this sort of crap forever.

A bit pointless identifying depressed kids if there is no funding for suicide prevention and recovery. They should direct the money there instead.
