I kind of worry that my survival instinct will act up and I may call for an ambulance or something last minute and back out. Not because I want to live but because dying is scary. I kind of admire hanging because you pass out a lot faster and if you do it correctly there is no chance of escape, but it is a riskier method.

Thats the biggest problem with SN. You'll have 30 minutes in which you may be having a panic attack and moderate discomfort. I would not even try it without benzodiazepines personally. I may be leaning towards gunshot over SN.

Yeah that's why I'm choosing to hang. Maybe take some sleeping pills? I haven't done too much research on SN though so don't quote me

I pretty much did exactly that. But I still want to have the option of backing out at any time.

You could video or phone chat with a friend or someone here so that you're not alone. That might help make it all less scary and a little more conforting.

Yeah it would definitely suck. It is this moment when you understand that you are going to die. I would definitely go only with heavy sedation like xanax

I have a post about my last attempt using bupropion, I got scared and went to an emergency room last minute. It was awful 0/10 would not recommend. I hope I don't do that again but I don't trust myself.

That's why I'm doing benzos when I use my SN. I know I'll panic and call someone or EMS because I know I really don't want to die but I'm doing it because it's what has to be done.

That's a good idea actually. Maybe I'll tell my doctor I have anxiety, which I do have, and see if I can get a Xanax prescription or something, if I put my phone out of reach that may be enough to stop any last-minute survival attempts

I know for a fact I would do that. No doubt at all. I'm an anxiety ridden person and as soon as I felt dizzy I would panic.

Man bupropion is nasty on its regular dosage, cannot imagine ODing on it. Good thing you went to the ER!

The problem with Xanax or other benzos is that they give you disinhibition (so you'll freak out less when taking the SN) but they will also disinhibit you from calling for help - like neighbors, shouting, going out on the street. Again, that's pretty much what I did.

I'm glad I read this! There must be some way to stop ourselves from getting help. Can you think of some way to do it?

Sorry forgot to reply. I would probably be miserable in the process if I ditch my phone etc beforehand. But currently I'm leaning toward other methods.

You could Hulk-smash your phone before but I'm afraid that's not the solution here. You just need to be ready.

Even if you smash your phone you could still run off in the streets or scream like another post mentioned.

Exactly. So you need to overcome your SI or sedate yourself really well.

Do any of you that have these fears and anxieties about calling for help think the amount of pre planning and fasting etc would make it worse for you?
Suppose the point I'm getting at is its a long time to be having second thoughts and worries about it failing or just feeling extremely anxious if your already that way inclined.Do you think you'd find it easier if it was something you'd be able to deal with better if it was more spontaneous or impulsive or do you think its something you'd struggle with regardless?

Either way I would do it. I panic when I feel myself slipping away and can't control myself from yelling for help or trying to stop it. It's an automatic response. My SI is very strong. It's so strong I'm rethinking using SN for that reason.
I'd probably be the same... Part of me thinks I'd find it slightly easier if it was something I could just do at any time at the drop of a hat though .Kind of like fuck this I've had enough I'm off ha!
What would you consider easier for you if your rethinking using SN?

I like carbon monoxide very much for being able to take sleeping pills and sleep through it. I just don't have the right place to do it. I really so far can't find anything else I could actually make myself do.
What about you, do you have another method you can use?
Pretty much the same really, I looked into that for a while myself and contemplated tents and all sorts but it seemed like a thing that was easy for people to do accidentally but extremely difficult to pull off even with loads of military style planning ha!

This is my biggest fear - panicking and calling 999 when I realise I'm going to die. SN gives you too much time before losing consciousness.

Nembutal would be so much better but £600 is such a lot of money when there's a real possibility of being ripped off or customs seizing it.

If you want to find a way to call for help, you'll be able to. The only way is to not want to by physical incapacitation (benzos) or sheer will
