  • Hey Guest,

Today, OFCOM launched an official investigation into Sanctioned Suicide under the UK’s Online Safety Act. This has already made headlines across the UK.

This is a clear and unprecedented overreach by a foreign regulator against a U.S.-based platform. We reject this interference and will be defending the site’s existence and mission.

In addition to our public response, we are currently seeking legal representation to ensure the best possible defense in this matter. If you are a lawyer or know of one who may be able to assist, please contact us at [email protected].

I was thinking of writing "This account is no longer available" or something similar on Whatsapp, Ig or FB. There are people who leave a little note on their social network profile but it's not my style.
I would like to know what you think about these matters

That line might confuse people. I've seen birthday wishes continue to come in on social media for someone who has passed because there was no clear message, scrolling everything away with half assed wishes.

Have you considered deleting the account completely just before you exit?

Yes, I have considered it. In fact, my social networks are empty because nobody talks to me so it would not make much difference. The reason for saying "This account is not available" is in case "someone" nearby wants to find my networks to communicate with me but knows that I am no longer available

Do you think it is best to disable them?

I understand your train of thought. In that case I think your plan will suffice.

If you have (1) person your somewhat close to you, many social media playforms allow you to designate a "legacy" contact where they can mark your profile as deceased after your exit.

Oh, I don't think anyone close to me would want to put me down as deceased. I guess putting disabled is fine.

I am aware that for some social media they require someone close to the family to submit the deceased papers so they can allow the account to appear as "remembering" . Once the account says that , everyone that searches the profile will know one passed away.

I plan on leaving messages for some friends but idk if I'll post anything publicly for everyone. Like do most of these people really give a fuck about me? I'll just message the few friends I have online who I think do
