Just... why?

I know many of us wish to acquire N as our method but the cost is high. It took me almost a full YEAR to do this, so I truly understand. But I was determined and I succeeded. I want to share what I did in hopes that it might help someone even a little.
First, I need to explain that we are not wealthy at all, but also I am in an abusive relationship and my partner controls EVERYTHING. This means it was far more difficult than average to obtain and hide the money. So I had to get very creative. For example, I do all the grocery shopping but he insists that I give him the receipts and he glances over them. So I can't get a little 'cash back' at the register because he will see this and get upset. However, I began buying just one or two extras of an item that we usually purchase. Then I would immediately go to the return counter and return that item (some stores will only return the amount to the card you purchased it with, but some grocery stores will give you cash especially if the item is under a certain dollar amount). In this way, I was able to get a little extra here and there. I hid the cash in my tampon box until I was able to slip away to open a secret bank account. Some banks even offer you a cash reward if you open a new account with a minimum deposit (sometimes as low as $100) and you keep it open for at least three months.
I also picked up every single coin I saw - even pennies. Many people ignore coins and think it is not worth their time, so you will likely be surprised at how much you can actually get this way.
I signed up for online rewards programs such as Swagbucks. For birthdays and Christmas, I requested cash or gift cards (and then I sold or traded the gift cards for cash). I sold things on Ebay. I sold a few items to a local consignment shop, such as a nice dress blazer, and later told him that it had finally worn a hole through it so I had to toss it.
My job does not offer overtime and my partner carefully watches the direct deposit and insists on reviewing my paystubs, so I could not do anything there. I did, however, offer to do little odd jobs for friends or neighbors which I claimed were just "favors" so he did not know I was being paid - such as babysitting, running errands, or baking goods. I taught myself how to do basic haircuts on myself through the help of many YouTube videos, but told him I needed $20 - plus tip - to go get a haircut every few months. Once, I told him that a woman at work was having a baby and everyone was pitching in cash for a gift... this may backfire if you have a partner who attends your office holiday parties and knows people or may ask them questions, but that was fortunately not an issue for me.
This was obviously a very slow process and a lot of effort. I thought my patience would never make it, but I eventually did!
I hope others will post their ideas here as well and we can all help one another. Hugs!!!
