Predictable topic, but has anybody else here watched and/or is a fan of 2011 film Sala Samobojcow (Suicide Room)? SaSu reminds me of it, not exactly 1:1, but close enough. I really like Sylvia, though she definitely needs help of her own, poor girl. My older brother recommended the film to me and I watched it last week, needless to say I was in love immediately. It felt like being seen.

It had pretty entertaining plot, and the visuals were also nice for the time it was made in. But it definitely is a product of it's time of the internet emo culture and the moral panic around it.
It also reminds me of SaSu.
Do not watch the continuation if you expect something similar to the original. It's much different.

Yes, I really loved the time capsule that it was. I was still in primary school around 2011 so I missed a lot of the peaks in emo culture (so sad) besides creepypasta. Really glad I get to experience morsels of it like with this film.

Also, are you referring to "The Hater (2020)"? I was interested in it as it had the same style of poster as Sala Samobojcow. Now I wonder about the premise of it.

Yeah the 2020 movie. It was promoted as Suicide Room/ Sala Samobojców 2; It was also made by the same guy. It's loosely based on the premise of how internet hate can influence your life, and about living in a lie. It wasn't nearly as successful as the original. I wouldn't say it's a bad movie per se, but it doesn't have much in common with the original. Sometimes they called it a spin-off as well, so I don't really know what they were trying to achieve (Dominik extended cinematic universe perhaps?)
