Questions- do you think he took/ ordered the wrong stuff?
Why does toxicology also say some nitrite but that was not the bag of stuff he had -he had nitrate
Isnt it a bit weird they think not suicide despite consuming 100 times safe dose?!
Is Nitrate not a good option too or...what does it do?

It's possible the newspaper got it wrong. They're horrible about reporting scientific nuances like the difference between Nitrate and Nitrite. I remember a Houston paper absolutely butchered key details about an accidental death at a heart hospital last year and made it look like the wrong people were to blame.

They said "a food preservative and colour fixative for meats". That means they were talking about SN. Nitrate is a fertilizer.

yeah it seems strange not sure Nitrate is lethal-well except in the sense virtually anything is in huge amounts

Sodium Nitrate would be even more unpleasant to ingest. SN is the better way to ride the bus.
