Any of you ever make one simple mistake that completely ruined your life?

I've got on track a few times and then mad decisions that have made my situation worse again. But my life's been underlayingly fucked from the start.

Yeah. I should have moved away the minute I found out I was pregnant with my son. Both my life and my sons could have been so different and I'm so mad at myself that I couldn't have been braver back then. Hindsight hey. X

Yup, had a really good friend and fucked that relationship up. My morals won't let me be anywhere near their life which means I lost all my other friends as well.

Yes I know the exact mistake and the exact day I made it and from then on my life has spiralled into hell. After that day it was mostly extreme bad luck and bad life situations that has driven me to ctb but that 1 mistake set it into motion.

No, I was destined to make the mistakes I did make, to fuck up as bad as I did and to feel as I do. Doesn't make it less harsh to know that this dumpster was where I would have ended up either way, no matter what but it's also comfort.

Same here. Couldn't have explained it better.

It's a series of repeated mistakes, mostly. In hindsight it's easy to point out a single decision that likely intensified the downward spiral, yet it's impossible to be sure. That uncertainty is part of the problem.

I was 19, in my third year of college, and I lived in an apartment alone. I smoked a lot of weed, partially to deal with stress, but also because I liked being high, was mentally addicted to it, and also counted on the drug to facilitate all my social interactions. I invited someone over one morning before my classes started, because they would be driving past my place to get to class at the same time as me. I asked them if they needed a cup of coffee and/or wanted to get high. They were up for it.

Stupidly naive as I was, I didn't even think anything of it. I didn't have any reservations. I was completely unprepared for what happened to me immediately after I opened that front door. I don't want to trigger anyone here...

...needless to say I was raped. My life fell apart thereafter. I blamed myself for many years; now I am honestly only angry at myself for not fighting back. At that time, I suppose I had this sense of self-preservation: "he could hurt me/kill me if I retaliate." These days, I only wish I could have died that day, lashing out in pure rage, holding nothing back, violently pressing on until the bitter end.

Yes. But I don't regret it, because I rather die knowing I tried to save me and family's lives than live with the weight of not even trying.

Oh yes. I caught herpes at 24. Just before that I aborted my first child then I ended up aborting all my other children throughout my 20's and then my final one at 41 felt too old by then and broke. It's crazy how out of control I was. Yes I had untreated undiagnosed borderline personality disorder and was very neglected and abused as a kid growing up. I had sex with too many people to count. I mean u want to look at someone who fucked their life and future up. It's definitely me. Now I feel like I have no choice but to suicide, as I've never pursued a solid well paying stable career track, I'm older so I can't just find some guy to settle down with, much easier when younger for women. I feel like I have no stable place to go or live really. I'm that person now that doesn't fit in anywhere lol! The weird, childless, older single woman plus broke and useless. This isn't to insult other women who chose to remain childless. It's just how I'm feeling about my situation.

One no, just a myriad of bad decisions and terrible luck. It's pretty fun though to be honest.
