I said yes when I was answering a psychological assessment required for my immersion. It was confidential so I wasn't too worried about it leaking to anyone else other than the counselor.

Im kinda slow cause it took me a few years to realise that you dont just admit that you want to kill yourself right now on a local facebook support group or to the teachers in the school I was kicked out of

I find the words *are you suicidal* make me feel really uncomfortable, I don't know why, Of course I lie, say I am not, not planning naything and all that shit, I live with suicidal ideation, whether that's active or passive is where the lie's start. I know which side I lay on, I know the side I tell others!
Bar the other night on a social media group, when some bitch ripped into me for no reason, and accused me of using mental health as a bullshit excuse, I flew my mouth and said you are bullying a suicidal women, hope you still think you are big and clever now... Admin removed the comments and the women before she could reply

Pretty much the only time I have to answer that question is in therapy or with my psychiatrist. Actually, I don't wait for the question. I volunteer it upfront. But I always follow it up by saying I do not have a plan and don't intend to make one. They usually ask if I have anything dangerous around, and I lie about that too. Then we move on.
That way, I'm free to talk about having the thoughts or urges whenever I need to but don't have to be afraid of being sectioned. I've been doing it for years, and it's never been a problem. I've never been locked up for admitting it. But I think since I'm in therapy and taking meds for it, they need to know what it is they're trying to treat.

I told my best friend. It was definitely a bad idea. Now if anybody outside of SS asks me if I am suicidal, I will make a face like below and won't give any reasons to doubt... Well, honestly people start acting with you in a different way when you say you want to CTB. I could not say this is hypocrisy but it makes the hard life even more hard...

When I've been asked this question, I oftenly say "no" because I don't want to risk getting into detail and then having to lie lie lie just to avoid the possibility of incarceration, lock up against my will. It's not a road I wish to go down. If anything, it has only raised my guard against these people. I think most of them are doing it to protect their jobs, sure, but at the same time, if you are not able to be "honest" without the risk of being locked up against your will, then counseling, therapy, and mental health is worthless. Yes, there are doctors and professionals that are more open and aren't 'trigger happy' when it comes to locking patients up, but that is still too risky and having to go through countless professionals to (maybe) find that "one" is simply NOT worth it. Many people lack the resources and time to do so, so when I hear people use that line of defense or justification, I simply dismiss it because it's not probable nor feasible for MOST people.
