A part of making progress in how you feel, is facing and accepting things about yourself. But you can't just accept these things as part of who you are, work on the things that make you unhappy, and relish in the things that make you elated. I would say without doubt that resignation is the first step of changing yourself in a huge way, even if it means accepting all the awful things.
it's the way to making your emotional experience flatter, for better or for worse. you will not be as lost at your lowest and you will not feel the full extent of joy that may be available to you.
