Help repost: anyone know of any easy access sharp drops / falls (like cliffs and buildings in UK? (NOT SOUTH/ESSEX)

i live too far from beachy head and the seven sisters cliffs (its about five hours of trains, god knows how many transfers through London and an hour walk to the site itself) so im looking for any alternatives elsewhere in England, mainly the NW, West coast or just anywhere in the Midlands/North. bonus points if public transport can take me there.

I live In the North West myself and I have a few good jumping points and some have beautiful views which is a bonus. Sadly there isn't many high places to jump in the NW but I've found ones close to me which are usually 1h drive.

The main one which I'm going to jump from is Pontcysyllte Aqueduct it's 130ft high and crosses over the River Dee and beautiful landscapes. You can easily access this place as there is a footpath you can walk down next to where the small boats cross. I've been here at night time and it is extremely quiet. I went at 2am and didn't see a single person. There isn't high fences it's easy to climb over. And there is no reported survivors who have jumped.

A few more high places are in the north west are:

Gathurst viaduct (shevington) - 75ft
Thelwall viaduct (Warrington) - 95ft
Thornton viaduct (Bradford) - 120ft
Sankey valley viaduct (St Helen's) - 80ft

There is loads of viaducts everywhere. The reason why I chose viaducts is because usually they are easily accessible and are often 70ft+ high which is guaranteed instant death. Most of them have really nice views too so it's a win win situation.

funny you mention pontcysyllte. i was looking into that, but from all the photos i've seen online and as you've mentioned you'll be falling onto either water or grass, both of which aren't ideal (to me, atleast. i dont wanna crush your dreams lol). unless there's a bit of pavement or something underneath i havent noticed. it definitely seems high enough though, if only for a hard surface to land on. that article you shared gives me mega hope, though. guess i better start doing my driving lessons so i can go there lol

Just be careful because recommended heights for jumping are at least 150ft for hard flat ground and 250ft for water. Jumping lower significantly increases your chances of surviving and just being seriously injured instead of dying.

Google 3d view can give you a sense of perspective for some things.

Not always perfect but you get a sense of scale before travelling anywhere and being shocked.

forgot to mention that it's very easy to get access ontop of tall buildings such as hotels or anything open to the public. If you go to the very top floor there's always a roof hatch obviously for workers to access the roof. There's sometimes no lock and you can just climb up freely or there is a lock but there a specific way to unlock the locks, if you are interested I'll message my friend and ask him the specific way on how to do it but it's easy only takes him 5 seconds to do it. (I used to go anround with with an explorer who would do crazy stuff climbing ontop of all sorts) we would get ontop of tall buildings just for the fun of it and we were never caught by anyone except when we shout obscured things at people from the roof

I'll post a photo of being ontop of a building in Liverpool city centre. The views were amazing. Definitely Atleast 300ft high too.

From what I could see it was an over head electric wire so no third rails which makes it a bit safer to walk along. No trains will come during the early hours so don't worry about that part

yeah, thats why im trying to get the right spot, sucks in the uk for jumping lest you live down south.

damn, thats a height and a half. ive considered taking a train to manchester (thats the closest city to me) and trying to get up to some high spots, just worried that ill get done for trespassing or something lol. there's a tower block near me but i doubt roof access will be available

for peace of mind when I used to do exploring. When the police or security show up they can only search you to make sure you ain't stolen anything and escort you off the property. You'll probably get told to not come back and you'll be banned from their land but there's nothing the police can do. It's not a criminal offence to trespass it's only a civil offence - meaning the company will have to spend the money and set up court proceedings to get you charged and trespassed off their site. Unless you go to big company's such as football stadiums, Google, Apple etc then I can reassure you nothing will come of it. Obviously it'll be marked on the police system that you've been on someone's land without permission but it's not a criminal offence in anyway unless that company takes you to court. Do some reading on it if you're worried. I've been caught by the pigs over 20 times for climbing and exploring and only once j was taken to court and that's because we climbed ontop of Liverpool stadium and watched the Cup game from the roof and they only found out when we posted TikTok's on it. It's all over the news icl it's funny af but Liverpool took a disliking to it and pressed charges (probably to set an example)
