Just had this idea
For me I think using a drill to install something on the ceiling for full suspension will attract attention
But isn't the terms of renting a storage space more lenient then renting an apartment

Screwing a hook to a ceiling is very subtle, you can just unscrew it and it just leaves a small hole, barely noticeable, maybe 5mm in diameter

This is not likely to work though- if you pak your car outside a unit and sometimne driving through sees you shut the door they will likely call the police- there is some chance it could work in the middle of the night if you have access to this when the office is closed, but I think they must have cameras there that the manager can monitor from home. Each storage place is different- it might work but I think the odds are you would get caught and end up with an involuntary hospitalization for a week or two minimum.

Oh! I thought privacy wasn't an issue, seemed too good to be true though.

I've seen some videos and it looks like you gotta drill before you screw which will raise a hell of a noise that's why I don't consider a hotel

It's not necessary into wood. And if it is wood and you want to drill, it could be done slowly, and very quietly! But the hook could just be screwed in by hand without a pre-existing hole

Regarding privacy of storage units, some don't survail it and some do. I remember reading some articles during corona about how some people in america turned to living in storage units instead of apartments and it worked for some of them without being detected, guess it's all about where and who rents it out and how their survailance and office works.

I don't know about the drilling part, but from my observations, you can spend quite a bit of time in a storage unit before being noticed. I don't think a closed unit is going to raise suspicion to the point of the police being called.

Some of those things are like mazes and people often get locked in them by accident after hours. Others you can access around the clock.
