Remembering 9/11

Shortly before me posting this message, 24 years ago, the second plane hit the towers. A day that lives in infamy, and would go into influencing today. Many innocent lives lost, many more to be lost following.

Watching the realtime "livestream" on the event is a sobering reminder. Seeing the jumpers is especially harrowing.

RIP to all the victims.

That's one of the reasons I have a soft spot for the US even when their government is conservative and right-wing. They suffered the deadliest terrorist attack in modern history.

I still remember it, and how odd it was to have an awareness of the ever-present planes thereafter.

I was on my way to work as it was happening. At the timeI worked just 7 miles from there. Will never forget that day. And it is absolutely disgraceful that for years and many more years to come first responders are suffering with horrible diseases as a results of helping. And they can't get the help they need. The true number of victims will never be known.
