  • Hey Guest,

does anyone think there is someone in like their 60's or 70's, perhaps on their death bed due to old age and natural causes who regrets not taking their life because others constantly told them "it'll get better, just keep holding on" and they believed that advice? and now they're old and realizing nothing ever "got better" and they ended up living a life of misery and regret not taking their life sooner?
on the other hand, do you think there is anyone who did take his or her life and regrets it (if you believe they have a conscious thought pattern after death) or if they could somehow be brought back to life at the same stage/age they were when they took their life and would make a different decision this time?
i frequently think about this and wonder what everyone else's thoughts are.

By the way some of my family members talked and the looks on their faces in the nursing home I think they wish they had died earlier. Life certainly didn't get better for them. That's why I refuse to grow old. Their rights were taken from them and they suffered miserably for years in nursing homes...pets get more humane treatment.

well depend of your life i suppose, if you ended in a nursing home hell yeah most of them probably feel miserable. But a very little people probably think of suicide even then. I probably would want to die before ended being depending of other people for living. But i don't wont reach my next birthday so i stop thinking that far ahead.

Yes. me. I'm in my 50s now and wish I had ctb long ago. I think about my life since a failed attempt over 20 years ago and can see that nothing would have changed for anyone. In fact I'm pretty sure some would have been happier.

I kept thinking depression caused the suicidal thoughts and tried to fix it. Now I'm wondering if its the other way around. I remember not enjoying life at a very young age and it was later that I became depressed. Perhaps if suicide were acceptable and easier, I'd not only be gone by now but have had a happy existence leading up to my demise.

Time is the great healer.

Here today, gone tomorrow, as time goes by people forget.

In 5 years time who will still mourn? In 50 years time who will remember us, never mind our death? In 500 years who will remember any of us? In 5000 years we'll all be viewed as cavemen.

Yes, I think there are a lot of people who only continued living because they don't think they can choose to exit life. That kind of existence is scary.

On the other hand, if there could be a conscious thought pattern after death, there are certainly people who would have regretted their choice, not looking at the bigger picture, and wish they would've seen a different perspective and gotten to enjoy more things that can be experienced in life, which they never experienced. That's why CTB shouldn't be taken lightly, consider all options and whether you're ready to truly leave the world behind even if you have "unfinished business" or a "bucket list".

I would say "yes" to both. Good questions.

How about this third option, some one in mid/senior aged is vacillating about CTB, then they have a stroke, for example, and then can no longer accomplish what they had been hesitant to do, because now they are paralyzed or incapacitated in some fashion. Being in middle age, this is a concern of mine, especially since I have lots of calcium built up in my coronary arteries. No bueno.

I know people believe or think or imagine there's something after, but on the basis that there was nothing before I can't visualise there's something later where we can look back and worry or regret anything.

And if things were that bad here, what's to regret later? "Oh I wish I'd stuck around more and suffered more - just because I'm now somewhere else and... the same?"

I'm not trying to belittle or dismiss this belief, it's just to me it doesn't make sense, or can't be any worse.

Maybe my brain and therefore reasoning is faulty.

I don't believe in an afterlife. I'm speaking on a theoretical perspective. Moreso I was considering that if it was possible, someone would definitely wish they would've stay around to be with their family, travel the world, or even see how their favorite tv show ended, etc.

I've had mediumship readings of my son who died in a car accident. Some took my money and were trash. I've had several beyond legit free and paid- that knew way to much to not be talking to my son. I have some of the readings copied on one note. My facebook is set to private so nothing is out there to be found. If anyone wants specific details I'll share. He called my cigarettes cancer sticks that came up from a woman , his name, how he passed, his fav color, his cats name from when he was a kid, his very specific nick name he called his brother, memories there is no way they would have known it isn't out there on the net anywhere. So I do believe there is more after this life. What exactly? I cannot say. I can guarantee there are people who have CTB'd and regret it. That they would come back and be where they left off if they could.

I also guarantee there are people due to age or illness bed ridden who regret staying because people told them it would get better. Now they are unable to take action and it is only getting worse, they are suffering.

both good questions and thank you for putting them out there.

I regret:
-Saving and investing better these past 10 years.
- working smarter
- caring what others thought when much younger.

If I was able to regret anything after death, I know I would not regret suicide. Suicide is freedom from all pain and suffering. If you do not exist, you are incapable of suffering. I'm sure many people regret not ctb at an earlier age, that is how I feel. It would have prevented a lot of pointless suffering. I never want to get old. Old age seems like hell to me.
