"Reaching Out For Help"

What a joke. Anytime I "reach out for help", I am only reminded further why I am wanting to die so bad in the first place. People are unbelievably cold, and have little to no self-awareness; yet they are always the ones in positions of authority and roles of "helping others". It is a sick joke. Psych hospitals are the last place people should be going for "help"; they only slam the nail in the coffin further.

hey, im late to this thread sorry but i wanted to reply. im sorry for your experience, some of these places can be cruel. i hope some day you find a professional who is warm, and genuinely listens and cares for you. its really jarring doing what youre meant to and being met with uncaring people and a dehumanizing system. i remember even in school there would be teachers who picked up counseling roles just for money/power (at least one admitted it haha) and it seemed like they hated every kid who was sent to their office! and while healthcare and mental health services should be more funded & well trained/staffed & have more work/life balance etc, its terrible many hurt and struggling people in crisis have to deal with bitterness, incompetance and ignorance.

"Reaching out for help" is one of my biggest regrets. Telling anyone about my struggles and seeking mental health treatment has ruined my life. I hate that the system is more of a business than a service to help people. Said system often leaves people worse off than they were to begin with. I unfortunately do not see things improving much in the future.

I really appreciate your support and compassion. It is devastating how cold mental health professionals and institutions can be and are. There are good people out there, I know! Just so few and far in between—and even they've are being so burnt out by such a corrupt system— and we just have nowhere near enough actual beneficial resources and structures that can truly help people, and really address their problems. It is just such a devastating reality.

I am really sorry you can relate. I hope you can find better support somehow. Maybe it has to be outside of the mental health mess they call call mental health care, but I hope you can find good people who can help you recover and heal and not feel so alone

I am really sorry that has been your experience. That is just horrible, you deserve so much better. I agree they really do leave people worse off. I hope you can maybe find a solution outside of the system and trauma that is "mental health care". Hopefully you can find genuinely supportive people and can find ways to recover and heal without being hurt or let down anymore.
