I have a friend whose parents are both social workers who have told me that if I wanted to talk to them i could. I reached out to them and am talking to them wednesday

Im scared. I want to get help but i dont want to. I want to kill myself but I dont. Life is scary and confusing. I just wanna be content in life and have loved ones

Is that your first experience with therapy? It's kind that they offered to talk to you. See what it does for you.

I have talked to many therapists over the years. Most times it hasn't done much for me, but a few times it helped. Ultimately, I think the western psychological practice is pretty broken, because it largely overlooks the social causes of anxiety and depression.

You might try reading Johann Hari's
Lost Connections, where he gives insights into that.

But also, don't feel that any urge of yours, whether to keep living or to kill yourself, is wrong. Your brain is crying out to you with those desires. They are true

When one is adrift, an anchor can be useful. The concern of your friend and his parents in your welfare can be one type of anchor. If they can help you see how to take control and direct your life so that you can make your own anchors, that would be good as well.
