One of my first vivid memories of life was when I was about 4 years old. It was a beautiful, sunny, summer afternoon and my father finally caved in and decided to take me and my brother to Carvels the ice cream shop which we had begged and begged endlessly for him to do. I had on my brand new shoes which just looking at filled my heat with pure happiness and glee. They were light grey with sparkly rainbow patterns on the outer sides.. I got my long awaited chocolate ice cream cone with sprinkles. We walked outside and I looked up at the clear blue sky and then down at my happy shoes. I was in pure heaven and in my mind I remember thinking this was the greatest day I had ever experienced.and with my innocent child mind thought of how fantastic the world was. I stuck my tongue out to take my first lick of the long awaited cone only for the ice cream to fall from the cone onto my prized shoes leaving a huge ugly brown chocolate stain ruining them, my cone and the whole moment. Little did I know at that time that this moment (on a small scale) was the perfect foreshadowing of how life would turn out., One gigantic disappointment.
